    Where are they?

No doubt about it, there's a ton of different types of snus out there, and I'm happy to say I've sampled quite a few; some good, some not so good. All a matter of taste and/or what I'm in the mood for.

But like most seasoned snus afficianodios, I keep my preferred snus handy, kinda like running home to mama, I suppose. My preferences are of the Los variety. You can't really go wrong with General, Ethan, Göteborg, etc.. But anywhere I look or any online store I look at, they pretty much all have the same. Is there no way to contact a smaller store someplace in Sweden that maybe has a brand that's off the beaten path? Long time ago I got some Montecristo, and I think I remember Romeo y Juileta. Couldn't even guess what they were like anymore, but are those (and others) still out there? Pretty sure Montecristo wouldn't be available here in the US since I believe it uses Cuban tobacco (how horrid!), but there has to be others around, waiting to be discovered.... doesn't there?

Fifteen to twenty or so years ago there were lots of (in my opinion) "traditional" snus. Now there's a bunch of flavors, and mostly pouches. And the traditional ones are few in number. Here's hoping they don't all go the way of the dinosaur.

Cars were cooler back then, too, but that's another story.

Yea there are a LOT of pouches available now and some are pretty good, or at least I have grown to like a few. As far as finding a snus thats off the beaten path you may have to look to the middle and far east. I would say that Buysnus by far has the largest selection of snus I've ever seen but I think their sales are mostly to the US, Canada and Europe. There is probably all kinds of snus unknown to us in the different countries around Asia. Every time I visit Buysnus I find a whole new line of snus or pouches, it blows me away how many brands/flavors they sell. The sales seem to be dominated by pouches now. I just recently switched my main snus to pouches for a couple of reasons.....my main snus was sold out for several months, my heart issues are getting worse and I found a pouch that I really like. Pouches have no tobacco and won't stain my teeth and the nicotine content is only 4.5mg which is considerably safer for me than say 8mg or more. So, without pouches I may have to quit using snus due to the effects of nicotine on the heart but pouches fit my need now.....tho I would normally go for real tobacco. Good luck on your search for a mom and pop snus.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

... guess I'll start looking more seriously at pouches. They do seem to be the thing nowadays, and the choices are definitely more abundant. What can ya do.

BTW.... been on this forum since 2008. How long you have to be here before you become a "member" without the "new" part in front of it? I feel like I'm still getting carded to buy beer! 🙃

lol, Idk how that all works and I'm a mod. Surely it relates to post count.

Hey! I'm no longer a new member! I feel like a veteran now.
and... my next order is gonna be pouches instead of loose. Still have a bunch of loose (Ettan and General), but I'm gonna try a something different, and I don't know if I'm optimistic about it. I'll miss not being able to create my own portions, but i won't miss the mudslides so much. I think I know what I'd like to try; General, Ethan of course, plus MacMyra, Knox, Göteborgs Rape, and a few others, but regular pouches or white (dry) pouches? I'm not looking for a 'kick', just long lasting, so I'm thinking white pouches may be the way to go. Might try a couple of each.
A new adventure in the world of snus! But I'll still keep loose available.

Due mostly to teeth staining and my heart issues I recently switched to a white pouch with only 4.5mg nic. Its Helwit Mocha a kind of sweet flavor but this portion lasts for hours on end. So this was a good move for me health wise. I used to only use Olde Ving 99 which is a great real tobacco snus. I still use 2/3 a day but that Helwit is great. Let us know what you like.
