Lundgrens Flex Catch Lids Crafts

These are wild. I’m actually pretty excited about this. I like how it is flexible and can easily fit 6-8 slim portions in it.

What I like to do is take the top off of an empty can of snus (until recently General cans) and trim the lip that clips on to the large can so I can use the catch lid as a super slim snus tin for when I need less bulk in my pocket. I like how the Lundgrens catch it is hinged, I like how it clips closed very well (I will soon see if it is watertight), and I think that when I finish my first tin of Lundgrens, it will become my new slim carry can.

::High pitched whinge:: “But Monkey, you can just get a slim Icetool can.”

I have one. And an Icetool, and a ThinKing wallet. I love their products, snazzy and quality. I’m talking thinner, like my…wallet.

Plus, if I lose my Icetool can I’ll be pretty upset. I love that thing.

I’m talking about something so slim I could slip it in my bicycle shorts, something so light it’s “not even there”, and something that if I lose it it’s not a big deal. Something I would take on the beach with a couple portions, and if it gets all sandy I’m not out an entire tin of snus…because at the end of the day I know I am a disorganized slob in my natural state. It takes work to keep this machine running, and sometimes that is with a catch lid tin.

Any of y’all do weird stuff like this?

So I tried this and these Lundgrens tins are STURDY. Holy crap.

I messed it up pretty bad, but I think I learned that I need to be more delicate than hacking at it with scissors. There are reinforcement ridges under the lip, so I’ll try again when I finish another tin.

Update. This ain’t gonna work with these Lundgrens cans. Holy crap are they well designed, but not for what I want to do to them.

I will continue my search for the ultimate disposable snus container. And by disposable I mean small and not a problem if I lose it during outdoor adventures great and small.

Great idea. Might have to try your mod with an old can just to see how it goes. I think some sanding may be involved just to make sure things are smooth on what would become the bottom of the "can". I have a stainless can and the thing is nice, but big, so, again, great idea. If you find a brand can that works best for you, let me know please.

The problem with the Lundgrens lid is that the flex part need the structural integrity of the lid to be taken up around the edge, like spokes on a bicycle. More research and testing needs to be done, but I just got my portion order so here we go!

Speaking of apple white, I started cutting up snus cans today and that little XR apple white can works great for using as a few pouch holder. And you can cut back the bottom section lip past a point where the top will overhang it all the way around because of the design. Ill put up a couple pics in a few mins....

I got 5 regular snus portions in this lid. Awesome hack and will use for sure. Edit- And no belt sanding needed.

Five comfortably, if they’re regular size. 6-7 slim portions depending on size. 6 Skruf, 7 XR.
