I've used snus since July or August 07. I'm not sure how to answer the other part, as I never really intended to quit smoking, and still haven't. I really cut back by winter of 08, and it's been a month or 2 since I've had any cigarettes at all. I could smoke one tomorrow, but I doubt it. I'll certainly smoke cigarettes in the future though.

I started snus in Feb 09, but quit, then started again I think in April? I used to smoke about a pack a day, but I quit that pretty easy in around 1999. I'd still smoke but only when I drank, or visited my father. I haven't smoked in a long while now, I just haven't had the desire. Though I still wanna get some Djarum cigars.

This is similar to me in some ways. I began with snus on August 11 of this year. I had maybe a cigarette total in October and November. My last (half), at least so far, was November 13. I could smoke a cigarette right now, but I don't really want one. I do have a cigar I am looking forward to, and a couple of pipes I chuff now and then. I almost always have snus in, though.

Unlike lxskllr, I'm not certain I will smoke cigarettes in the future. But I can't really say I am "quit", for good and certain. I'm sick and tired of them and I hate the way they make me feel. They stink. I don't need them. I should probably say "never again". The best I can do at the moment is "not now".

When you're moderate with the use, they don't really make you feel bad, at least for me they don't. The most I've smoked in a day since 08 is about 5, and I felt fine afterwards. Typically it might be 1 or 2 per week. I haven't bought rolling tobacco in awhile is the main reason I haven't smoked. If it were here I'd have a cigarette, but I can't be arsed to go buy tobacco :^D

I wonder if even moderate smoking and using snus raises your risks for pancreatic cancer and or oral/esophogeal cancer?I know I was always afraid of getting cancer even faster than just using snus,so when I started snusing I never went back to the cigarettes because that would double my chances for cancer.I have snused for 5 years so Im probably already a likely candidate for some type of cancer!I hope not!

I'm sure it does, just like petrochemical outgassing, driving in traffic, and radioactive decay from natural sources. I imagine the negative effect is minimal, regardless of what the zealots would like you to believe. In any case, if you quit all tobacco today, and became an organic vegan living in the back country of Alaska you'll still have to die like the rest of us. You might as well enjoy the stay while you're here ;^)

Started snusing about the same time as MojoQuestor, early August of this year.

Edit: I should mention that I "dipped" Copenhagen/Grizzly for 30 years before quitting with snus. I have had ONE dip since converting to snus.
Boy, was it good! But I ain't going back. I'M A SNUSER!

I made the switch Nov 13, 2008 after 38 years of smoking.
Still bought the occasional weekend pack until June 2009.

I wouldn't mind having an occasional cigarette except for the fact they're $6 a pack now and I'd rather spend that money on snus. 8)

I've snused for a little over 2 years. I never was a smoker, but I dipped for 4 years before. It's funny, now I can't stand the stuff.

                              Smoked for 15 years
started snus 2 weeks ago, and only smoked half a cigarette (and wondered it tastes so bad....) didnt crave for marlboro

Even though i knew snus for a year i only took the decision recently, results:
i breed mor easily and the food tastes great, and i REALLY can taste the tobacco now, guess i will snuse for the rest of my life

I'll make a break on non smoking since i have a box of cohibas ready to smoke
