    I did it!

I hand-baked my first pris. It took me 8-9 min to get it but it is in now and staying together nicely.

It was a mess, as I had thought. So if I enjoy the flavors I will have to invest in a prismaster I am sure. Since I am in love with Thunder Frosted portions I will be getting los next time.

It gets easier. The flavor you get from los is amazing. I should have put a pris of Kardus in there.

I'm very curious about los snus , I'm afraid I'd end up with bits o snus all over my mouth...
but i "hear2 that its less salty and more flavoured than portions (which i find very salty, the original)...
what brand would you recommend for starters?

Vegan sent me a can of Ettan's. It seems easy to hand-bake, of course when you have more practice than once.

That is all I have, so someone else can chime in.

I will go for the Thunder Frosted los next order, that is for sure.

Röda Lacket lös is nothing like the portions. It's closest to finely ground Ettan; no fruit whatsoever. It would be a reasonable starting choice if that sounds appealing. It's super easy to bake, but it may mudslide on you quicker than other brands.

GR lös is very similar to the portions, but it has more flavor imo. There's no problems baking, and it's coarser than RL so it's less likely to mudslide.

i find the portions very saltes when compared with the minis...

I'd say RL lös is saltier than the portions, and GR lös is about the same. This is going from a distant memory as I haven't had the portions from either in quite awhile. Maybe someone with a fresher portion experience could chime in.

                  Edit:
Gotland brands tend to taste less salty in lös than they do in portions. V2 lös is also low in the salt dept. If you like licorice, the Offroad lös can't be beat.

                      Way to go Christi,

I will agree with JT, my first attempt i was faffing around with it too much and it kept breaking up. After four days now i can have an Odens pris ready in just about a minute. I get my pinch in my palm, give it good squeeze together, shape then pop it in.
The flavors are definitely better in the two los i have. I had tried both in portion form too.

Keep at it, it will become easier.

                        Awesome Christi!

I haven't ordered any los yet as I have 30 or so tins of portions to go through, but once my stash is down the next order will include los

That's great Christi. How did the flavor of the los compare to that of the Ettan portion, in your opinion?
My first los order is due tomorrow, looking forward to trying it out.

Thats great Christy. Good hand job on that pris.

and yes it can be quite messy.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
