Great idea! I am going to do this but instead of paper towel I am going to cut a sponge down to size and use some of my humidor fluid stuff. I too am a very slow snus user and like to have several open at one time. Thanks for the schnazzy idea!

Good thing I kept some of my empty cans. I currently have Ettan & Claq Qui open atm, so I got 2 empty cans of the same type. Used my dremel to make holes in the lid, stuffed some paper towel in there and soaked with water. One thing I did though was seal the side and the top with clear packing tape so no moisture escapes. I guess I'll leave it in the fridge for a day and check it out, I like my portions pretty moist.

        That is a nice idea.

Great minds flock to snuson. I know someone else posted the same sort of thing a year or so ago.

I never had the gumption to do it until seeing it again now.

I do find myself dripping bottled water and sometimes whiskey into snus more often than I did in the past. I just have so damn many open all the time.

I regularly use snus as dry as sand, but I am curious to try this. Maybe curious to add some bourbon too and see if it picks up a bit of the aroma or taste.

The rum i used did impart a nice flavor. Subtle but noticeable. I used Captain Morgan Private Reserve. That stuff is the bomb!!!

Great idea! As an ex-cigar smoker, I'm surprised this idea for an improvised humidor never came to me.

This method works awesome!!! I did the humidor thing to my Thunder Frosted mini tin. I used a sponge and soaked it with mold-resistant humidor solution and than sealed the 'ashtray' lid with silicone. A week later and never stored in the fridge, my portions were moister than ever and tasted great!!

what would be cool is if Icetool would make a stainless snus box that was air tight with holes in the lid part. That would be cool. Maybe they could make the ashtray lid actually screw on so that it would be airtight.

where can I send a suggestion???????

take a step further, use propylene glycol 50/50 with distilled water and you won't have to worry about mold

My uncle who had been using loose snus for probably 20-30 years had this process where he would use the steam from a boiling pot of water to rehydrate his old snus. I wish i remembered exactly what he did.

Kind of repeating everyone else here but that does sound like a really ingenious idea. I'll give it a shot on a few open cans I have and see what happens.

                              Thanks
