Recently got some CLaq in a trade. 1st tin I opened was a little dry. This thread saved the day. The ghetto humidor was a success! Thanks for the A+ tip

Been thinking of using a bamboo steamer to rehydrate some old general ekstra portions. Would the heat do anything damaging?

I tend to keep about 15 or so portions of different types in one can thats with me all the time and mostly hot and sometimes they dry up. I did the humidor cap thing here a few days ago and it was the perfect solution. Now I dont have to worry about trying to work up some saliva in this stupid heat wave we are having, all my portions are staying nice and moist without being "wet".

                        Great idea!!!

I used a thumbtack on my 02 can and that worked just fine. Did not even leave my desk

Here it is. Instead of placing a piece of apple of other produce in the snus box I decided to make my own Snus box humidore that is built into the box.

                            1. take a snus box with an "ashtray lid"

                            2. Remove the lid and drill several holes in the bottom part of the lid.

                            3. Now stuff the cap of the lid with paper towel or whatever type of moisture hoilding media you choose and soak it with water (i used spiced rum).

                            4. Now snap the cap with the paper towel back in to the lid and presto!! You have a built in Humidor.

This works great for me since I am a slow snuser. Only about 6 to 8 portions a day.

Let me know if you think of an improvement!!

Has anyone used this method with any success recently???

I tried this as a way of adding moisture to some homemade Thuoc Lao nasal snuff. I also tried putting the snuff open in a small tupperware (airtight) box with some damp tissue paper, left on a sunny windowsill, and then checked after 24 hours to see if the snuff was at the desired moisture level. Was more effective than putting holes in the top of the snus can, although obviously couldn't go in your pocket like this, so there is a place for both methods for me. In days gone by I had a friend who rolled his own (cigs) and kept a few potato peelings in with his tobacco to maintain the moisture level.

Is misting your portions with a water spray a method that works?Only curious cos as a newB I have loads of cans open at the min as I try to find my preferred snus.

Finally attempted it, a failed idea. The perforated lid concept seems far superior.
