Swedish Match Products in US Tobacco Stores

As i'm sure many of you know, Swedish Match is selling a small variety of products in some U.S. stores (general products only i think). I'm wondering if anyone has visited one of these stores and purchased the products? I'm thinking of doing it over my Winter Break, and going to one of the stores near me.

    Are the products usually fresh?
    Are they stored in fridges?
What are the prices usually like?

Guess I'm tired of waiting 10-12 days for it to arrive. I ordered last monday

Ummerr, is there a snus seller near us (Montreal - Ottawa) in the US? In Vermont or NY State?

      Snus Seller

As far as I can tell from the Swedish Match website, www.swedishsnus.com, there are none in Vermont, but there are several in New York City, which is still a trip a ways.

I think Canada's best bet is DuMaurier Snus, which is being tested marketed in Edmonton currently. Any news on that one from anyone? I'm asking my friend from Edmonton to check it out over Winter Break.

Imperial Tobacco told me it is proprietary info when I asked them if and when DuMaurier snus might be available nationally. Someone could make a buck or two shipping them to us out of their garage in Edmonton.

If the Edmonton test market looks weak they may just dump the whole plan. Why the hell isn't Swedish Match here somewhere?

I purchased some General Portion cans at a seller in Orange, California where I'm originally from. It was very fresh and came out of a little fridge they had set up on the counter. It was a very cool little fridge that I wish I could have stole. It was kinda pricey. I think I paid $5.99 a can but the luxury of purchasing the cans in a store was worth it.

I'll be down in Southern California around Christmas (that's where I'm originally from as well... it's a small world, eh?) and I'm going to hit that shop in Orange. I'll be bringing plenty of snus down with me, but I just want to buy a can from them for the experience of buying one in a store.

I just hope they have some General loose. If not, I'll get the whites because I've never tried them.

It is a small world! What city are you originally from?

The store is actually at the Block. It's a little Cohiba store to the right of the movie theater (if you're walking toward the theater). The snus fridge was at the right of the store in a little General fridge. It was awesome. Like I said, I wish I could have picked that sum bitch up and ran out like the wind. They did have loose as well as white portion, winter green, and some of the Catch brands. It was really cool being able to buy some snus in a store. It gives me a little glimmer of hope.

I was born in Riverside, but I grew up in Laguna Niguel, which is right next door to Laguna Beach and right above San Juan Capistrano.

I know that Cohiba store! I was at the block seeing a movie with some friends when I went back to visit in September. We walked by that store and I commented about wanting a cigar. How funny.

I was still using Camel snus when I was down there, as my Northerner order hadn't come prior to me leaving Portland to go down there. Had I known they sold snus, I would have been a much happier person. I would have tossed that Camel in a bin and bought myself a can of General. Even though it isn't my favorite, it's still a billion times better than Camel Original.

Now I can't wait to go home! I'll get a nice cigar when I visit that store too. It'll be a great day.

                  Soft Morning, City,
Born in Riverside - cool! - another snuser with roots in the Inland Empire!
I'm in Highland near San Bernardino and have been for the last four years. But grew up in San Dimas (which is sorta between Pomona and Covina) - Van Halen was like a local band for me, dude. (yes i'm that old).
                  rawker75,
I went to CSUFullerton so i'm also familiar with the area of north OC
Unfortunately the nearest store to me is probably the very one you gentlemen are talking about - which is about an hour and a half drive considering i would be taking the 91 ("THE 91 SUCKS" is a famous old bumper sticker i remember from my college days). Gone are the days i'd drive from San Dimas to San Diego to Santa Barbara just for the fun and the freedom of it! (Gas prices, too many cars now, too many crazy people from wherever driving them)
                  Anyway, enough reminiscing.
                  Peace, snus on dudes.

Yes, the 91 does indeed suck. I used to drive it three times a week to get to Anaheim. There's an art gallery there that my friends own and I'd always hang out or play acoustic shows there. Fun times. Can't wait to go back during Christmas and see them.

The 55 sucks equally, at least as far as I'm concerned. Perpetual traffic jam up until about 8 or 9 at night. A terrible drive. My route to Anaheim was always the 5 north to the 55 north to the 91 west. Fun fun fun!

I grew up in Huntington Beach so I know all about Laguna. Back when it was called Orange County and not "the O.C".

I worked at the Virgin Megastore at the Block before moving out here to Vegas to go to Culinary School. I did not start my snusing love until I moved out here, otherwise I would be buying snus constantly from the Cohiba store. I had tried snus before moving out here from some Swedish friends of mind in a band called The Bones. They are the reason I'm a snus fiend now!

Don't forget the 22 Freeway! That's the one I was always stuck on. The 91 and the 55 suck too. Belive it or not, driving here in Vegas is worse than California.

                      SNUS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya know, when i went to school in Orange Co. (CSUF) i never called it the OC - just "OC" and i know i'm not alone in this:
                          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_English
                          quote from article:
A common complaint from residents of Southern California's Orange County is the reference to the area as "the OC" instead of just as "OC" proper. Attributed to the Fox television show The O.C., the inclusion of "the" in the county's title is mainly perceived to by those from outside of the area rather than natives.
This may be an example of a phrase that was cool (like in the late 80's and early 90's when i was at CSUF) before some snooty Hollywood moguls got a hold of it - got it wrong - and so made it uncool. Oh well i'm too old now (married w/ child) to be on top of the latest phraseology.
Besides i'm now living in the Inland Empire (and i have no idea if it's called "IE" or "the IE"). I'm just content to get my snus in the mail once in a while and enjoy the fruits of mother nature.

 That's harsh. My deepest sympathies.

it will be awesome if i can actually buy snus from a store. i'll let you guys know how it goes.
