Have you tried any of the Oopmh! purified portions yet PMD? Those have zero salt flavor although they are not for everyone. Northerner's energy snus is also salt-less in taste (and pretty good too). The only problem with purifieds that I've had is they are all very small in size. VERY small.

PMD,
Good to see your post ol’ man. Sorry the salt thing is still giving you trouble. I’m surprised because I noticed the salt way more in wintergreen American dips (like Kodiak). Never liked them much but when I did try them salt was a big part of what I got.
I too don’t salt my food but the salt in snus was never much of an issue (except in Gustavus- which to me is one of if not the most salty snus I’ve had).
All this is to say I can’t help but wonder if it’s not the salt per say in snus but rather that you are tasting it more. In other words, I wonder what the salt levels in snus are compared to those in dip and I wonder if the “extra” flavoring and sweeteners in many dip brands offset or masked the salt flavor for you.
Now I know that this doesn’t do you much good or solve the problem. However, it may help a little knowing that it’s not that you are getting more salt in snus but only that you are just tasting it more.
Of course even this meager solace depends upon whether or not dip and snus do indeed contain comparable salt levels. But to determine something like that I think we require the services of the good sir knight, Justine.
Until then you will have to be content knowing that you are like the majority of the snus using world--- a one brander. It’s us Americans, with our rotations and top five lists, that are the redheaded stepchildren at the table.

Oh yeah. I drink at least 160 ounces of water a day. Have been for over a year and a half. I am certified health fanatic. Don't know if you saw one of my first posts but in May 2008, I weighed 290 lbs. This morning I weighed 164 which is the range I have stayed at for almost a year. One of the things that helped me lose all that weight is replacing sodas with water. Well that and working out an hour a day with an exercise bike and dumbbells as well as eating healthy foods.
Snusdog,
I never noticed the salt in the American dip. Not sure why though. Since I have been using snus, I do notice that American dip is naaassttyyyy. It was the taste of salt that bothered me not the level. Just don't do salt.
