Catch Collection 2010 Return, first on deck? Rubarb.

Just thought I'd post this over here and share.

The popular Catch Collection by Swedish Match is returning for 2010. Last year, we received 4 quarterly products under the Catch name - Mint Vanilla, Peppermint, Violet, and Cardamom/Cinnamon, all of which were great products and received very well by snus users. The tradition continues this year starting with Catch Collection//Mellow Rubarb. The flavor is listed as, "Mild tobacco flavour with well-defined notes of rhubarb and ginger and a hint of spicy undertones." Sounds exciting. I'm a Southern Boy, so I love Rubarb Pie. So I'm really excited about this release.

Curious about what's next? Well, we have some more info about the rest of the line coming soon. After this one will come Catch Collection//Glow (Lime/Fläder) also described as "elder lime", Catch Collection//Ease (Ginger/Orange), and the fourth flavor has yet to be announced. These will once again be in white mini portion form due to the research done, so although I was hoping for a full sized portion, we'll have to hold off for that and hope for 2011!

    Coming 1 Feb 09.

Yeah, I wish that too. I can never bring myself to buy them because I just stick 2 portions in at once, and the can is gone so quick that way haha

Yup... I just can't do minis. I REALLY don't like the mouth feel of them. I got the vanilla mint when it was released, and I thought it was pretty good. After the first couple I was forcing myself to use them due to the mini size. It just isn't worth it to me.

I wish a company would use a small can, maybe like General's mini can, but put 12 full(large) size portions in them, call them "Half-Packs", and charge a buck fifty.

I'm still going through the Violet forcing myself to use them, love the taste, but hate minis.

The only thing that bothers me about these new exotic flavorings in snus is that if I try them and like them, they will likely not be around long term enough to enjoy.

Using snus, you just have to except that fact. Horde while you can, and wait for the next cool thing. Like Offroad Sweet Clove! And you can always start a poll and maybe someone will listen to you. (PP!)

Sounds interesting. I've always liked to try unusual flavors, be it in dip/snus or otherwise. Since Discreet portions are kind of mini-sized anyway, I don't really mind them. Double barrel and I'm set.

That DOES sound like a very interesting flavor, but minis make me feel like I don't have a snus in, so I don't bother with the 'collections'.

True and it does keep things fresh and interesting. = New flavors.

What the hell does Rhubarb even taste like?

It's very tart, with an ALMOST fruity note. It would probably be closest to cranberry for something that's more common. When it's growing, the stalks are dark green. and are shaped similarly to celery, and it has broad dark green leaves at the top, which shouldn't be eaten.

I love Rhubarb - although it should be a regular portion, not a bloody mini!
