hahahaha yeah...as they told me that, and as i was writing that, that's precisely the joke i was thinking of. Mitch was great.

so the breakdown of the customs duty is as follows:

Duty - 8.44$
Excise Tax - 0.00$
GST - $1.60
PST - $12.36 (includes provincial tobacco taxes)
Handling Fee - $5.00
Total - 27.40$

i feel like the big expense is the PST, and maybe it's being taxed an inaccurate rate, considering what I read from the Cook's inquiries. It was only five cans of snus, all portioned. So maybe it's excessive. However, I don't know. It is also classified as "tobacco chew."

Quebec may just have crazy taxes to pay for their 'seperatiste' movement.
