Can you turn portions into los?

I have a couple of tins of rape portion in the freezer. I'm only using los now as portion material disagrees with my gums. I'd like to try rape los but instead of buying a sample can, can I just empty out my portions and add some water? Will it taste the same or do they use more flavouring in the portions?

You *can* do it, it has been tried before. But the results have always been reported as not very good. Los really is a bit of a different beast, made differently.

Just pick up a $3 can. If you are gonna try los, do it right.

As for your portions, just trade them or sell them off on the exchange, whole purpose of that thread.

There is a touch more salt in portion snus so, I would imagine it would have a saltier taste than the standard loose snus.

I'd go with Sage's advice and just pick up a can of loose and trade off the portions.

Sage is right. Los is really a different animal than portions eviscerated.
I tried it that way a few times and thought that los wasn't so good, until I got the real thing.

The tobacco inside portions is cut ultra-fine; this will prevent the tobacco from staying together when shaped into a prilla.

Well I accidentally turned some Thunder Frosted portions into los while sleeping. Was not much fun.

I would NOT recommend this at all. I did this with Skruf cranberry for about 20 minutes and had a really bad burning sensation in my gums for a few hours afterwards.
