New Batch of OR Coffe/Van....Your Thoughts?

I got my orders from Northerner today. I was going to stash them and use up the older stuff. However, there was one roll that was open so I figured that I might as well take a tin and try this new batch. Sure glad I did. I opened the tin and it looked great. Dark brown and real moist....just how I like em. hehe. I popped in a portion and immediately noticed that there seemed to be LESS tobacco. Bummer. But not a big deal really. The big problem I have is that its really bitter AND there is alot more BURN!!. Bitterer [ha] and alot more burn than any other batch I've tasted. I do notice a difference in tastes in every batch but in the past it was only slight.

Ok, after 5 minutes or so the nasty kinda goes away, and the flavor seems to be somewhat different. Its just not the same.

Looks like I'm saving my older stash for special ocassions.

Patrick what did you do? HELP!!

This is not a good representation of your coffe/vanilla.

Whew. I had to take that portion out after about 30 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and put it back in. Its not quite so bad now. But it still doesn't taste quite the same. Not in a good way either.

But I had a revelation. I have been getting my Coffe/Van from Getsnus ever since I talked them into carrying it. The best by date is always near expiration with alot of their stock and as such I have only been using "older" tins. I'm hoping that if I let it age it will get better. i do see a pattern with the different tastes and the age of the beast so it would seem to make sense. Maybe Patrik can shed some light on this issue HELLO!?!. Great nic hit tho.

anyway, right now I'm not too worried. I really do think this is the case.

Let it mellow for about 6 months and then try it.

        nevermind......

Of course this is the case. The Grinch hates Christmas, Montgomery Burns hates puppies, and you hate fresh snus. Was there ever even any doubt?

I've found I hate Phantom Brown when it's fresh, a couple months in the freezer and it's really good. Maybe this is just so fresh it needs some time to mellow?

I know has nothing to do with Coffee/Vanilla, but same company maybe similar issue?

Pretty bad if we're complaining about snus being to fresh.

              too fresh, could be

another problem I have with this batch is that now I can feel some stubble on my tonge. And I JUST had my tonge waxed the other day. This stuff must promote hair growth. Need to try using it on my head I guess.

Ya know, I had some Oden's Classic Original Portions that I just about hated at first. Once they were in the mouth twenty minutes they were good. But by the last portion or two I could really tell a difference. Then, they were only mildly revolting for, say, five minutes. If I get another can of those I may seriously consider airing them out first.

I don't know about that. Fresh pipe tobacco is not very good at all. If I ever get tobacco that was just tinned, I would never open it right away, at least let it rest for a few months. Pipe tobacco just gets better and better with age. I am hurriedly putting as much away as possible with my long term goal of smoking nothing but tobacco that has been aged for 10 years.

So if pipe tobacco is like that, why not snus?? At least certain snus, I could absolutely believe don't work well until they get some age on them.

In the past, I found that I did not enjoy OR C/V.

I tried this one because I was hoping the batch was improved.

I found the taste to be very similiar, the portions lighter than most V2 portions I'm used to, the smell to be a tad bit stronger, and the flavor to be more bitter than I remember.

Without having an old batch to compare, I can't make a 100% accurate comparison, but this is what I remember. It is considerably different.

But still, I think it's nice that V2 did bring this back for those who really enjoy it.

I can't believe that PP himself uses enough to warrant a re-release. Or that there are enough sorry saps who actually like this product to justify even making it.

From the few times I tried it all I ever tasted was artificial coffee creamer and skanky coffee twang. The portions were dry, rough, and hard to keep in my mouth more than 5 minutes.

Hope the new stuff turned out better!

Where's the offraod bourbon and cola snus?

                          Get on it. NOW!

I think this is a mighty fine snus!

I was getting ready to have V2 make up a batch for me. I emailed Patrik the link to the poll I posted and he made up enough for alot of people to try it. That was really nice.

These portions are soft and moist. Thats how I like my snus......and my women. But I don't like either one bitter.
