    What's up with Nick & Johnny?

    I like Nick & Johnny (the strong and black portion).
    Around the web people write they don't like it - what do you think about it?

    I'm looking for a new thing - what can you recommend, with a strong locorice flavor?

    At The Northener they advertise the Skruf Cranberry stuff as the bestselling one. Maybe it's me, but I got one box....the first, the only and the last one

        If you like licorice as in licorice, try LD Black, or Oden's (I've had the ES Lakrits, it's got a real kick, but I haven't tried the regular-strength Oden's licorce yet). The Gots is good but is anise, which some find tastes much like licorice but is a different thing, really. Some of them have both, like I think the Offroad Liquorice Loose I've gotten into lately.

        I'm to the point now I'm about to order up whatever else is licorice that I haven't tried (like the regular Oden's, and the Catch versions), just a can of each, to see what's what. I had no idea I liked licorice so much, especially salty licorice, but then along came LD Black.

        You might like the Grov Svart, too. It seems to have a hint of anise, among other flavors. And, it's also a black portion, like the N&J Black.

        Having tried the Skruf and Offroad versions, I seem to be another non-fan of cranberry snus. I still may take a stab at the OR cranberry loose, though.

          The Offroad Cranberry is much, much better. IMO.

            I recommend you give the Offroad Cranberry Loose a try. :wink:

                I pretty much only like the OR coffe/vanilla but my second choice is the N&J Black. Everything else is for everyone else I guess. I have weird tastes, to be sure.
                Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

                I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

                  I was never crazy about N&J. The lös was rich and tasty, but it would have only been an occasional dessert snus for me if it had stuck around. Here's my choices for anis/licorice snus in no particular order...

                  Gotland Grå- slightly bitter, and herbal. A very natural taste. It tastes like they picked the ingredients from a field.

                  LD Black- Smooth and luscious, with an almost oily texture. The portions are soft, and the flavor lasts forever.

                  Offroad licorice lös- Heavy and sweet, the strongest licorice flavor of the group. It isn't sweet like candy, but sweet like heavy licorice. Quite good, and it's from your country.

                    I think N&J is fantastic. I usually only have one in the morning because it's got too much nic for me to use repeatedly.

                    I think that the Grov black and Onyx have more of the flavor you're looking for though.

                    There used to be regular strength N&J (west) and it was a white portion. It would piss me off because I think that 50% of the portions broke open with my ritualistic portion massage right before putting it in, but it was some damn tasty stuff. It was my first roll too. The portions were slightly smaller than 1g and they only gave you 20/can but it was great snus. Too bad I'm one of the few that loved it or it would still be around.

                      Off topic, but what I wonder is why they decided that discontinuing N&J East was a good idea.

                      It was too expensive, but such a unique flavor.

                      ===

                      As for your licorice question... what was that one... checking buysnus... LD Salmiak! Thats the only licorice snus I like.

                      ==

                      N&J Black is good, as is Grov Black, but they don't compare to the original black (am I right about that?) General Onyx.

                      The black portion material seems to add some kind of I Don't Know What that makes a snus automatically 25% better.

                        Nick and Johnny Black for me is like General Onyx without bergamot or citrus.

                        My preference is Oynx.
