    buying snus online questions

hi everyone. the store i usually buy my snus from is out of general loose, and their prices are roughly double what the swedishsnus.com prices are. so i figure since im in this for the long run, i might as well just order it in bulk. i have several questions:

    1. i live in the usa, i *think* its legal to order snus and there should be no problem, but im going to ask if there could potentially be any legal hurdles anyway.

    2. if i do order, what website do you think i should order from?

    3. how do i keep it fresh? do i have to put it in the fridge? is there any other way? i ask because my parents dont mind if i use snus, but they would if they see 10 cans in the fridge all at once, so im looking for another possible way to keep them fresh. also, how long does it stay fresh if i keep it in the fridge? i go through a can in about 2 weeks, so if i get 10 cans that will last for 4-5 months

    4. if anyone knows any issue they encountered that i may have missed please lmk.

    1. as of the date of this post, there are no legal issues.
    2. my personal suggestion is either BuySnus.com or ClubSnus.com. both are pretty good.
    3. i keep it all in cold storage, i wouldn't leave it sitting around. unopened in freezer, opened in fridge.

also, you mentioned your parents, how old are you? because ordering online there is an age restriction.

No potential legal problems that I'm aware of. We still live in a fairly free country :-)

The site you mentioned has decent prices but, as with most, the shipping charges suck. I've been happy with getsnus.com They have good prices and are the only site I've found that doesn't gouge you with shipping. If you order less than $20, shipping is only $3. You can order half roll of General and a single of something else you might like to try. I'd suggest trying Grov, Roda or Ettan, if you haven't already. Oh, and they also include a free mystery can with 5 or more cans. Last two times I received Grov los. That's what I'd do. Small but economical priced order. No need to freak out the parents with bulk purchases that probably won't save you an money anyway. Also, others here have suggested calling to request USPS for super quick delivery. I've never done that, but the Teamsters usually get it here in under a week.

I hear nothing but praise about clubsnus, but I'd also suggest getting 5 cans from getsnus.com, and they will give you a free can with it. 5 cans in the fridge shouldn't a problem. When I had multiple open cans, I took a tubular generic coffee creamer container, and cut the top off, and put it in the fridge door, and it will hold a lot of cans, maybe 8, I don't remember. I also did the same with an old 2 liter, cut evenly the top off, cleaned dried it out, and put it in the door.

Put a mini fridge in your room.

If you're going to stick with just General, check out the 50 can deal at snus.com.
Otherwise, get a selection from. Anyone you want. I AM waiting for the clubsnus update to see what they add to the site before I order from them but if its all General, go for it.

yeah when i was living at my moms for a while, i felt weird about filling the fridge up with cans too. i went the mini fridge route. it worked out well. but i mean, just a few cans wouldnt necessarily require refrigeration. those of us that hoard usually keep them in the fridge/freezer because we're stocking up, buying in bulk.

Northerner.com is popular. It's a Swedish place though so if you order from them it can take about two weeks to get some stuff. I like their bonus point system though admittedly I have yet to cash in any points. I probably have enough for a couple of months worth of free snus now too. They DO have a US warehouse that ships fast (2 days to Boston) but be careful what you order (it's clear where they come from).

Freeze them. I keep mine in a small box in the freezer (24 cans or so) and about 5 opened in the fridge. Sometimes I rotate them before I finish a can and put the ½ full ones back in the freezer for a while. I keep out 4 or five now but I could get by with one or two open. They last seemingly forever that way. If you find they get a little too dry you can easily rehydrate them a bit to suit your taste good as new, and sometimes even better.

                  What does that statement mean?

Some of the items on their website ship ONLY from Sweden, others from both a US warehouse and Sweden. When ordering if you see a US flag next to the item, it can be shipped from the US warehouse or a Swedish flag represents the Swedish warehouse. But, if there is 1 item on your order that ships only from Sweden, then the whole order will ship from Sweden.
Thus, if your order is strictly coming from the US warehouse, it should arrive more quickly.

fdnuckles has got it right. you've got to look at the flags near the snus to see where it comes from.

On the other hand I get my orders split by them. I don't remember if I requested that or anything it just happens automatically now. I get two packages with ever order. one from the US and one from Sweden. I DO have to pay two shipping costs though and that's a little annoying, but I'd rather not wait. When I eventually cash in on the points I'll feel better about it.
