Be very, VERY careful how you post about this subject. Youa re bodering on pissing a whole heck of a lot of people off. I am so happy you don't seem to be so addicted to nicotine.....YET. Fine. But don't start posting about how others only "think" they need nicotine.
The problem with that statement is that most of the people who tell me that they can quit whenever they want is that they are still smoking!

IMO its all about personal state of mind and will power. I realize some people turn to nicotine to relax and relieve stress, I do too. But I am also aware that I have other ways to relax and relieve stress. If I feel like I'm using too much snus, and it begins affecting my life the way smoking did, that's both my sign to quit and my motivation. But for now I'm content. I'm still exploring the flavors and experiences that snus has to offer, and enjoying it rather thoroughly.

So Jake, you are telling EVERYONE that ever struggled to quit nicotine here that they just have a lack of will power????

Wow, you are just gunnin for most popular, aren't you.

BTW, get yourself some more educated, some here use nicotine for other purposes, for medical reasons. I have posted at least 20 times why I use nicotine, won't bother to here, not worth it to me

Jake - I consider myself as having a lot of willpower, but I use nicotine for a medical purpose....the same as a few others here. I will not go into details, because I don't feel they are required....but don't assume because I still use nicotine that it is because I or anyone else has a "lack of willpower".

Ok let's look back on my last post. First of all I said in my opinion, which is simply my opinion. If you don't agree that's fine, but you don't always need to voice your dissent. Second, my statement about will power was in regards to MY experience quitting smoking. I quit cold turkey, so personal will power was the only tool I used. And it worked for me. if others need different tools/techniques to quit well that's why they're there. finally, I said SOME people use nicotine to relax. Some as in not everyone. so before you get all offended and call me uneducated, learn to read yourself. And BTW I never said anyone had a lack of will power. Those are your words, not mine.

First, you didn't clarify this statement with any words about YOUR experience in quitting cigarettes.....this is worded as a general blanket statement.

Second, yes...I can disagree with your IMO statements - but I can also verbalize that disagreement in a public forum.

It just seems like we are mincing words here. I think we all realize that quitting nicotine is easy for a lucky few and difficult at best for the rest of us. Lets just enjoy the snus while we can!

alls i have to say, is that it would be hard to fully explore the world of snus WITHOUT getting addicted. theres so much to be tried and tasted.

Last couple of days I've only been using one sterk in the morning. I get a buzz from that for a few minutes. It's nice.

If I have another sterk during the day I'll only feel it if I'm sitting and not doing much otherwise it just blends in.

My favorite for buzz factor has got to be Thunder ES. Claq Qui with a nose full of Old Paris snuff does it too.

                          This ^

I might add, when I get home from a long day with the fiance and hit some snuff for the first time in X hours whilst enjoying about any ES portion, I do acquire some buzz.

                                For you,. sure.

I use nicotine to treat my ADHD. Too lazy to write it again, so from some older posts....

There have been numerous studies over the past 5 years that show that nicotine is as effective as Ritalin in treating ADHD.

That is why I use snus. I abused meth 20 years ago, and simply do not trust myself to use Ritalin without abusing it. But without nicotine or something to replace it, I am lost and do not function properly.

The issue is how much you need that.

I had a girlfriend last year with a heart condition. Even tiny amounts of nicotine would throw her hear rhythms off, so I quit snus for about a month. I was almost helpless. My work suffered dramatically, it was like I was going through life in a fog. The day we broke up, I returned to snus and it was literally like the fog lifted.

I have only become fully aware of my ADHD in the past 4 years. I smoked on and off since I was 9, and have now been able to trace my most significant difficulties in life with both school and work to the periods I wasn't smoking. I never intend to give nicotine up again.

At first, the assumption was that there was spmeting about ADHD that caused the kids to smoke. But as they looked into it, they realized that the kids were just self medicating. Numerous studies since then have proven the effectiveness of nicotine to treat ADHD.
