I was browsing some old sites, and I found this.

I HAVE to know, anyone try this when it was around?

That was before my time, but I'd have loved to have tried it. I'm not even sure what cactus tastes like :^D

BTW, they also made a licorice lös that was before my time also. I heard from others that it was pretty good.

Not sure if it would be the same flavour, but I purchased some Läkerol Cactus flavoured pastilles off the Northerner a while ago. It was Lakris flavoured. For those who haven't had it, if you aren't Scandinavian or me, you probably won't like it, but it's quite popular in Scandinavia. Basically, strong black liquorice with salt.

I love salmiak. I have some German candies on my desk here somewhere. I also got Piratos once from a member here, and those things will put hair on your chest :^D Strong licorice, salt, and ammonia. Your first reaction is to spit them out, but the flavor's quite compelling :^)

Many many years ago I had cactus candy. Basically candied cactus strips. I don't remember if any flavor was added, and I can't really remember the flavor, but I want to say... maybe... it was like a mild guava. Something around that area. Maybe.

I'm telling you. These people definitely hold the thrown on putting harmful substance in tobacco. Makes the fiberglass additives by the American Tobacco companies look and taste like cotton candy.

I once worked a place where it was produced (malmö)...
I tried it - the taste was very speciel, and it was only on the market for very short time.
The metropol liqurice was much better then kaktus
