just wanted to say thanks sagedil, recently got some extra sterk and I can really tell the difference. I am a lös fan, and this oden's extra sterk kanel is very good, the texture is alot different than the others and the flavor I like alot.

Your welcome shady. Just been doing this a while, been at Snuson a long time. Have gone through this transition with hundreds of folks, and know just how much the Sterks help make you feel like you have enough nicotine.

Over time, that need for Sterks will lessen and lessen. But for now, they will be critical in helping you make that final jump to all snus

Maybe. I realy haven't paid attention to what is in the Top 10 Box for a while. Kinda why lately I have been pushing the idea of try out boxes in general more than Northerner specifically. Every vendor seems to have their examples of such, and there seems to be some fluidity in what is in some. So let someone pick one that sounds good to them, what I did 3 years ago when I first came to snus long before I found Snuson.

So no, no duplicate brands in there really, just a really decent cross section of whites and regulars, and a basic sterk (Nick&Johny). A super sterk, Thunder Frosted, every Newbies wet dream of a flavored snus ( Laughing Laughing ) The only one I hate is Eucalyptus, and think Oomph is strange. But *some* folks love those and everyone should at ;east try at least once.

So bleep you, I am taking back what I said at the top and will continue to push the Northerner Top 10 Box. To me, at least, I think it is a great introduction to what snus can be.

My comment regarding the Northerner box was aimed at the Northerner Starter Kit which does have a lot of duplication

I like gottenburg rape no 2 and ld white potion, but I'm not keen on stronger snuses..

Would anyone have any recommendations of similar snuses I should try, I shop with northerner.com, and notice favourable reviews for ettan, and since they sent me a free ettan hat with an order once (bit small, but hey, it as free), I should ask about alternatives.

I am fine with you disagreeing with me about try out boxes. I just don't see the point in spending money on a try out box that contains 3 starks when someone clearly stated that they do not enjoy starks.

Agreed on newbies being exposed to as much as possible and it being appropriate to most people......but this forum offers enough advice and guidance for anyone who is new to snus to get as much information as they may need to compile a great first order.

Well since the ONLY try out box I have ever specifically recommended is the Top 10 box for that very reason. And you specifically said you were gonna disagree with a recommendation I didn't even make in this thread. I am gonna assume you were talking about what I recommended??

Northerner used to have a sweet 24 tin try out box. Id had something from every maker, and every different style. I thought that was ideal for someone new to snus, and I'm glad I made that my first buy. There were some pleasant(and not so pleasant) surprises that made deciding what snus I liked easy. It was $54 if I remember right. A true bargain :^)

First things first. When I said that you were going to disagree with me I said it in jest because I am well aware that this is a point that we disagree on. Simple as that. We disagree on a lot of things from our taste in snus to our views on lös vs. portions etc. I can deal with that.

I wasn't referencing your specific recommendations but merely offering an opposing point of view held by fellow long time forum member. So it was a comment that I had hoped you would pick up on and expand on rather than view it as a try out box vs. own selection debate which it then seemingly degenerated into.

Second, I was making a recommendation for imppy (a UK forum member) while you were offering advice to shady (a US member) and therefore my answers were specific to imppy's comments.

So to be honest I don't see how shady thanking you for your recommendation has anything to do with this when my original response had nothing to do with his question. Fair enough you gave him good advice. I'd like to believe my advice to imppy given his circumstances and particular question was equally helpful.

my first purchase was northerners top 10 box, and it was a good buy. most i liked, some i didnt so much, and of course some became faves. damn i miss lucky strike.

I am not sure what Sagedil did wrong here and why his suggestions were even criticized . All he did was offer someone advice on what snus to try. I find it hard to believe that someone would get upset over recommending a sampler box which in my own opinion is the way to go. It doesn't really matter much though because when you switch from Camel snus to Swedish snus its all good! My only thought is that we must be having a shortage of snus right now.
