    The good ole' boy Swedes...

    The working/trades sorta man.
What typically would be his snus brand? Would he bake it, pinch it, or use that tool thing? how would he get around the refrigeration thing, keeping it in his pocket all day.

I think probably Ettan or General los. They use a can per day or two so refrigeration doesn't matter. I pretty sure they hand bake.

As was said, General or Ettan, and I'm guessing pinch, which is to say, the half assed bake you get by pressing it into the side of the tin.

Back in 2001 I spent 10 days in Växjo and Stockholm Sweden. General Lös was the choice. They would pinch it and then press between the forefingers using both hands to make a small round ball then put it in the upper lip. The Swedes do not spit they just swallow it like any other plant material. They did not make so large a pris as to need to spit it out later. I sat in on several business meetings and snus was always at the table.

Younger folks use Either General or Grov(I use Grov). Slightly older people like my dad and uncle would use General, Grov or the sligly finer ground ones like Ettan or Rallarsnus. If yr from Gothenburg you ofcourse would use Göteborgs prima fin.
This in on the south-west part where I'm from. Ettan is more popular on the east coast from what I experienced.
You would bake it by hand. Noone I know use the Syringe tool thingy.
I dunno what you mean getting around the refrigeration thing. You keep the box in your pocket for the 2-3 days it takes to finnish it.

do parents care if their kids snus on avg? is it age restricted?
did you ever see anyone lower lip it?
and let's say i had to camp out for a couple weeks (i'm a forester and we spend a lot of time in the woods)...could i buy a few rolls and keep them un-chilled for that long? or would the product go bad.

snus doesnt really go bad, man. the only reason i refrigerate it or freeze it is cause i cant just go to the store and pick some cans up. but i mean snus has been around for like 200 years, i dont think you need to worry much about it going bad. i dont even know how it could go bad, to tell you the truth.

From what I have read the longer snus is at room temperature the more it affects the PH level and moisture content which would influence taste and nicotine delivery. This results in an inconsistent product which the producers do not want sold.

Depends on who your parents are, I guess. but overall parents seems to be more relaxed about their kids snusing than Smoking, that's for sure.
Nope, never seen anyone putting it in the lower lip.
Yeah, bringing a few cans along should be fine. It might get a bit dry at the end but you can just put a few drips of water in it.

Snus fridges in swedish stores probably consists of 90% General, Ettan & Grov Once a snus can is sold in Sweden it won´t go back into a fridge, you keep it in your pocket untill its empty.

About icetool and prismaster I personally didnt even know that these things existed untill i found this foum. Never seen anybody use one or heard anybody even talking about them. Same goes for lower lip! Whats up with that?

I think the sales of portions and lös are about the same allthough more people use portions the ones that only use lös buy more because they usually use alot. A can will probaly only last a day 2 tops.

You have to be 18 to buy snus in Swden same goes for all tobacco products.

I'm curious, do folks there buy rolls of snus, just like smokers buy cartons of cigarettes? If so, do they put the rest of the roll in the fridge? I imagine they would, but it seems you would know for sure.

Heck, I know some smokers who keep their carton in the fridge. I never bothered, as a carton of smokes would only last me about 4 days.

Grov is definitely popular among the working class/blue collar crowd. Construction workers almost exclusively use los.

PeterM described almost exactly everything I'd heard from swedes online. Trying the bottom lip is just a habit or confusion with dip. No fancy tools, basically they treat it a lot more like smoking and typically don't talk about anything but getting another portion in. So while it is a swedish product, most of us americans who have to import it definitely are more nerdy and full of the facts and information as to what goes in the can and the process in general. Almost all swedes I've met use general, grov, ettan, or skruf (probably in that order) and many aren't familiar with nick and johnny or knox or thunder.
