No, they're plastic tins with a metallic label. Between Gellivare and Gotland, I'd never have to buy snus from another company.

I've got Gellivare and Landstroms on order from northerner.I've heard they are both great.

Initial impressions after a few pris of each. Unlike anything I've had before. The Landstrom's has an earthy, natural flavor. The Gellivare is alot like that, but it has a more rich flavor, has small hints of chocolate and hints of nut - I want to say hazelnut. It's very good stuff. You'll need an Icetool with it, it's a very fine grind, almost impossible to handbake.

This is great news! Gellivare was a favorite of mine. If you wet your hands a little it helps with the pris baking. Hillbillies should have no problem with this stuff.

I've heard so much about these since I've signed up on this site early last year. I have 1 of each of them on the way from Northerner. I also ordered me one of them neat little snus pouches from there. The one that has the embroidered "Snus Pouch" logo on it to spread the word.

Hillbilly works fine with Landstroms. Can't say anything about the Gellivare.
After a year of nothing but General and Ettan, I'm eager to see how the Landstroms tastes.

As for the "earthy" smell--yes, it's just that. People who don't use tobacco, you'll find, will have a different term to describe the smell, and though I like the stuff, I can't say they're wrong.

Duct tape and large blue barrels will be available to the members for spouse related problems. Theres a shed out in back to store them in.....if needed.

That said.....

I Just finished my first tin of Gellivera. Here are my first impressions (I have left a more extensive post over on the review thread. However, I wanted to at least provide the gist of it here since there has quite a bit of interest on this thread)

First of all this is great snus. If you have not tried it you need to get a can of it. It is mellow and rich at the same time. I could see this being a snus that I would be very slow to burnout on. It just hits the right balance in flavor.

Second, it has a consistency unlike anything out there. It is fine in grind but not doughy (like Roda or Prima). It’s almost grainy (but not in a bad or abrasive way) It is very comfortable against the gum- so don’t let the “grainy” description throw you.

Next, this is probably the trickiest snus to handle that I have yet encountered. It’s not that it is the hardest to hand bake (in fact it bakes very nicely). However, the different grind/texture means that it requires a whole different technique and approach. Just plan to spend a little time with it initially, getting accustom to it and working out how to manage it.

As far as Hillbilly goes (lower lip)- it works great.

Bottom line: this is a unique snus that is well worth trying. You owe yourself at least one can of it and Landstroms
