Back on topic sort of. I don't know about my bedtime snus but I do think
I've found my sicktime snus:
General Mini Mint. It seems to waken my taste buds! Low drip so no irritation to the throat. And whilst it has a pinch of nic init, not enough to f..k with recovering from a sinus infection I reckon. Yep, liking this atm!...

My husband snuses at night because then he wakes up in a better mood (meaning "not an angry bear") and more easily (15 minutes to kick him out of bed, not an hour.. or two..).
What we've found is that some portions are more likely to inspire nighttime heartburn and niccups. A few times he's woke up hiccuping with a mouthful of juice and felt like he was going to spew. Once I heard him simultaneously hiccuping and snoring (!) which was pretty bizarre. He's a very deep sleeper and I couldn't wake him up, so I just reached in and pulled the portion out before he blew vomit all over the bed.
White minis work pretty well (he has a lower nic tolerance than I do.. much lower) but the *best* -- meaning most effective as a wakeup aid and least troubles at night -- is those 6mg purified portions Northerner sells. Of these, the "Merry Christmas" snus is the best-tasting by far, but the citrus-menthol and licorice-lemon are not offensive.
Our goal isn't the crazy vivid nicotine-inspired dreams, though. The idea here is to put in a very dry portion into a dry lip immediately before bed (saliva production nearly halts while you're asleep) and to have it not really do anything until the alarm goes off. Putting in a portion after the alarm goes off and hitting the snooze button won't work for my husband because he is extremely difficult to wake up, stubborn, and often just plain evil if he's nicotine-deficient at 7:00AM.

The portion, I mean... :P
I've found several ugly brown packets on and around the bed, but most nights it seems to stay where it's supposed to. He just told me that when he wakes up he's usually chewing on it...
