Gotta look a little more closely these days, as it appears that much of the 'General' line is now being produced Stateside. This was the case for both the roll of General Wintergreen and the roll of General lös I got recently.

So if you ordered from GetSnus, ClubSnus, or The Northerner's U.S. location, look at the bottom of the can. If the label is in Swedish, then the European date format is used(Day/Month/Year). If the label is in English, the American format applies(Month/Day/Year).

Basically, when I get a new order in, I take note of the date(s) and keep all of my snus in the refrigerator. Anything I have not used by the date(s)in question goes to the freezer.

so you all mean to say that the Getsnus label is day/month/year? If thats the case then I received about 8 rolls of it about 8 months back that was all out of date by several months. [typicl for the early days of Getsnus]They are the best coffe/vanilla I have ever had. This new batch is from northerner from overseas and fresh as hell. Its not nearly as good as the out of date snus I got from Getsnus.

I am just starting to realize that when these new portions dry out for a few days they are much better tasteing.

      cool.

I keep all my snus in a freezer so the 10 rolls I recently got from northerner are bitter but now I can adjust that just by letting them dry out a tad just before I use them. Thats really cool cuz now I figure they will last for several years in the freezer and still be good. Even to the point where I will have to let the dry out somewhat before use. I rehydrate them with coffee before use anyway. weird tho. but I know my stash will be good untill used up. Then I will have to appeal to Patrik to make another batch of limited edition coffe /van. works for me.

Call me a little anal, obsessive or whatever the word is. I must tell you being a bachelor at present. I find myself arranging my stash in my refrigerator using those side slots where you normally throw a carton of eggs, salad dressings, ect... and I have a batting order setup whereas my "ready to reach best before date" is on one shelf. The next shelf contains those ranging like 3 to 5 months out. Then the last shelf contains those 5+ months out.

I also have a few in my freezer like a partial can of Probe Whiskey which sometimes makes me smile, other times makes me wanna heave. An unopened and never tried regular Roda Lackett Portion which had a best before of late last year, and a couple others with dates beyond the "best by"....

No idea if I'm "doing it right" but so far it works for me.

I have some snus that's well over a year old, including some old Pall Mall, I just keep it in the freezer, when I open a can I pull it out and it tastes just fine.
