    F & L Blue? Anyone try yet?

Has anyone tried this yet? Any reviews?

(Sorry Mods, I tried to put this in the reviews section, but only Mods can do that - if you need to move this, go ahead.)

my northerner account has it in the shopping cart with a green dot next to it, doesn't that mean its in stock? I haven't ordered yet, cause I'm waiting to compile some more cash for a bigger order. But I am excited to hear what people think. Snus foreplay, I call it.

I am curious though if it also adds sweetness to the snus?

            E150a PLAIN CARAMEL
Definition: Plain caramel is prepared by the controlled heat treatment of carbohydrates (commercially available food grade nutritive sweeteners which are the monomers glucose and fructose and/or polymers thereof, e.g., glucose syrups, sucrose, and/or invert syrups, and dextrose). To promote caramelization, acids, alkalis and salts may be employed, with the exception of ammonium compounds and sulphites
I didn't notice it had dye in it. That takes off my list of snus to try. I won't buy it out of principle.
This does not need to start happening with snus. Blue needs to die a quick death.

There are just too many brands out there that are doing it right. Why settle? Regardless, it won't be in my order anytime soon :x

I usually totally avoid "artificial" ingredients in any food. Certainly a good habit to avoid in snus as well. But the line between "natural" and artificial" can be quite thin. In this case, the description of the caramel color appears to me to me more natural than artificial, and is nothing less that what is happening to the tobacco already during manufacturing and "pasteurization". It's just supplementing the reduced tobacco sugars with more reduced sugar polymers. I personally wouldn't let this additive stop me from using this snus....but it's not my cup of tea anyway, so I won't try it regardless...

Thanks for the insight. My rants often need a moderating voice. ops:

I will confess that an analysis of particular additives is beyond my expertise.

Regardless, I'm still not real happy to see this sort of thing show up in one brand when it has not been needed in others produced by roughly the same method.

I've seen roasted pumpkin seeds with titanium dioxide added to make them extra white. Seriously?!?! Is that /really/ necessary? There's nothing wrong with plain salted pumpkin seeds. They look fine, and taste great. They don't need any extra crap added. Maybe the artificial ones taste like crap, so they make them pretty to help cover it up. Maybe the Blå is the same way....
I stand by this, and won't support shenanigans by snus companies, or any other companies altering products that don't need altering.

I ordered this before I found out about the carmel color and I got it today. It's not bad but is a little sweet and I really don't dig the flavor..

Well, I care. I'll be 44 myself in a couple of months, and sure I've treated myself like crap for most of my life, but it finally dawned on me that self-abuse is still abuse. We are all connected. That's my opinion.

                            I won't be ordering any. There's plenty of good--and pure--snus available.
