Another new snuser

Hey guys. Have been a long time lurker but I thought I'd finally sign up and say hello. I'm 32 and a former cigarette smoker of 15 years.
Currently I'm the UK (my home country) but I regularly live in Japan due to family reasons (my wife is Japanese).
Must say how easy it is to quit smoking using snus. Great stuff!
I have the occasional pipe just for a little bit of variety, plus the locals tend to freak out a bit when they seen the crazy foreigner cramming stuff under his lip!

Right on with the pipe. Quitting cigarettes was easy with snus, but I still like to smoke my pipe once or twice a week or so. I make a habit of smoking my pipe at least once a week at dawn. There are few things nicer than listening to the quiet of the morning and puffing on a pipe.

If I were doing it constantly, I might be inclined to worry about it, but at my level of frequency, I don't worry. Even when I smoked cigarettes, pipe was still always relegated to just being a treat for me. And now with the snus it is still the same.

Alekto, did you know it is possible to get snus in Japan? There is a thread here about that.

Darkwing, no! I wasn't aware of that.

I had heard that they were test marketing lucky strike snus in Japan, but I haven't seen it for sale anywhere (I'm in Tokyo). Of course, If it were available 'over the counter', I'd be very interested to know where.

I have seen some guys selling it on a Japanese shop website called Rakuten, but I guessed these were just independent traders.

Those prices aren't too unreasonable, you know.
€4.88 for a can of portions and €6.10 for General loose is roughly about what I pay all-in through BuySnus.

Hmm Craig, now that you mention it, it's not so bad.

When I order direct to Japan it's a little cheaper because I don't pay the taxes on it usually.

I'm a pipe smoker also. I enjoy my pipes every day. The thing about pipe smoking is that inhaling isn't required. Welcome to the world of snus. I've been able to quit cigaretes, and even the frequency of my pipe use has been reduced. Isn't snus the greatest ?
