Another way to put is is to call it a "Plutonomy":

    What Does Plutonomy Mean?
Economic growth that is powered and consumed by the wealthiest upper class of society. Plutonomy refers to a society where the majority of the wealth is controlled by an ever-shrinking minority; as such, the economic growth of that society becomes dependent on the fortunes of that same wealthy minority.

If your order is over $50 Getsnus ships it for free and they use UPS for that anyway. It would greatly benefit the other online retailers to do the same.
I don't want to be punched in the face twice with taxing and higher shipping.

The free shipping combined with the fact that their roll prices are significantly less than anywhere else is the main reason why I find myself shopping with them most often. I just hope that the new laws don't erase that free shipping option...granted the snus prices will increase.

lxskllr - that analysis just seems to good to be true. I have seen what the feds did to online gaming and flavored smokes and I have a feeling we aren't seeing the whole picture. The Pact is huge and there is a lot to pour over but it is interesting that the Senate changed significant portions of this bill and then sent it back.
"Sweet Dreams" French vanilla cigarettes made in Denmark- GONE.
Thank God I quit smoking before our lovely government yanked em out of my hands.
Now you can actually buy "toppings" for your RYO tobacco,,,,"IN CANDY FLAVORS", lol

I'm glad to see it's slightly better than I'd anticipated, but I'm still going to stock up on SnusX and extra sterk.

So, how long until they start targeting flavored smokeless tobaccos?

I just received my shipping confirmation from getsnus, and noticed that my order (under $50) was shipped via UPS. I've only ordered from them a couple of times, but as I recall my orders under $50 were always USPS. I take it they're already beginning to use UPS for all shipments in anticipation of the act becoming law in the near future.

They use UPS with bigger heavier orders. I got a getsnus order on Saturday, and it was usps.

this was an order for only 5 cans. I've ordered rolls of 5 before and it's always been usps... I think... but UPS this time.

Mine was 5 cans too, 6 actually. I did order 5 cans of loose in the past, and I think that came UPS. My 5 cans portions I got Satuday was sent usps.

THANK you for taking the time to do that. A little reassurance goes a long way.

No TabakJack, Getsnus is just random with using UPS. Has been that way forever. So bad in fact, that most of the vets have had to actually call Getsnus to put notes on their accounts to NOT use UPS.

So.....fact that you got shipment via UPS means nothing. Please stop posting pure conjecture and rumor. Such postings have NO business here. Seriously, PACT isn't even law yet. Needs to be passed by hose, signed by president, even then has about 6 months before the law goes into "effect"

What changes will come will come AFTER the law is passed and signed into law. Even then, since there is a 6 month window, it will be a bit slow. Please stop posting that you "think" companies are responding to a law that isn't even a law yet.

Just wondering how much tax you guys might be looking at paying on snus under the US PACT Act?

I've always had to pay Swedish Tobacco Tax and EU Sales Tax on my snus orders living in the EU and so am curious whether it will be a similar amount.

Here's an example of where I purchased a roll of Skruf Stark :
Skruf Stark, Strong Portion Sent: 10
                              Retail price 10 $ 3.49
                              Item total: $ 34.90
                              Tax amount: $ 13.56
                              Tobacco Tax: $ 11.10
                              Delivery cost: $ 8.26
                              Total: $ 67.82

North Carolina recently raised their tobacco prices. So I am looking at paying an additional 12.8% per tin. So what, an additional $0.35 per tin??? I am SO not gonna stress this. My state needs the money. Adding an additional 12.8% tax to my tobacco purchases will NOT hurt me. Damn, remember what I spent when I smoked??

Again, why all the whining about this just bugs the crap out of me. It is not the end. The world doesn't stop if this passes. It just gets a tad more expensive. Big whup.

So Pris, I am looking at about $43 per roll of General. No more than $4 more than I am paying today.
