Sage you posted that opinion and conjecture has no place here on snuson. This is from the guy who created a thread. Eni
titled "pact act is dead". And said it won't pass the senate and said that he told everyone so. Well pact isn't dead sage so that was pure conjecture based on your opinion. Why does a newbie get jumped on by you for doing the same thing you yourself do. Now granted you have educated alot of people on snus but that doesn't make your opinionore valuable than anyone else's. I disagree with you this forum is the perfect place to express "opinion" and anyone is entitled to do so. Right we have free speech and this is the Internet the place for all of us to share opinion . Maybe pact means the end of snus maybe it doesn't. It is all conjecture until the law passes so until then we will have to express our opinion about it.

Yeah, maybe it would be better to wait and see what happens. I understand why people are pissed... hell I'm still mad as hell about all this. We should have a convention to hash this out... We'll do it like the good ole boys do where I live.. head out to the desert, burn some tires, get drunk, fight, then make up and swap girlfriends for the night.

So Pris, I am looking at about $43 per roll of General. No more than $4 more than I am paying today.
I agree with you 100% in that if I had to pay a few cents extra on a can of snus it shouldn't be a problem but I believe in California it's 40% of the wholesale price, about 10% sales tax and then some minor federal tax. We are not talking about a few cents anymore. Add to the fact that they are constantly raising tobacco taxes whenever they need some cash and now that $3.00 can of snus costs you a lot more. In fact, most stores sell General OP here for about $7.00 a can. The Pact Act will hurt!

when I ordered from clubsnus I was charged around 33 cents per can in tax.
what other taxes would be added? Really confused how this works. Why would they add more taxes if it's already taxed??

ladysnus- You were only charged sales tax and not the 40% tobacco tax which would make your purchase a lot more expensive. If Pact passes, I think you would be safe to assume that snus prices will double. I am also going to take a wild guess and assume that UPS and Fedex will be more than happy to check the ID of a purchaser for a few bucks which will also add to the cost of your snus. I have to agree with lxskllr that any snus purchases now will mean a return of at least 30% or much more in our case on your money. These are only my assumptions though.

In NY it will probably be cheaper to buy that car you are using for your avatar then it will be to buy a can of snus.

                  Here is a list here

So in essence we should all refinance our homes and buy as much snus as possible NAO!!!!.

YES! Who needs a house we we can have snus instead? Besides, there are bridges to sleep under everywhere.

I am thinking Hakuna Matata! If snus hits over 5 bucks a can then I will just quit or use it for special occasions like camping trips.

It's 41% of wholesale cost, not retail price... Still quite significant, and even more so in other states.

we can live in a house made of snus cans.
damn, i've already spent 560$ on snus in a month and a half. So add 40% to that...this is the best investment I could ever make.

Lazer -you live in snus heaven with 0% tax on smokeless. You will probably have to pay sales tax which shouldn't be too bad.

Now I know why Sage was asking why we are whining about a few cents.
