260 cans! If Sage suddenly gets a craving for Grov Original, or General, I am your man, some how I doubt he would go so pedestrian in choices! Give me a call if you need a couple of pounds of Wilsons Sp and Hopfensnupf. I have it all!

Rule wisely is my motto! Same with guns and ammo, never quite have enough, but Having so much makes one somewhat peaceful and content, while the others rage against the turning tides!

You know, I was reviewing my post and really noticed my quit for banner for the first time in months, I have really come out ahead money wise even with the major stash! 36 cartons of smokes avoided, almost a full year now and not one relapse, snuff helped with that, but it was snus that did the heavy lifting, it's all good, good luck boy's. I have always hoped that Sage's optimism would prevail, but have hedged that position hard.

Thats really awesome. COngratz. You know, I just did the math with my smoking habit, if I had quit for the same amount of days as you. Holy Shit its mind boggling.

My habit was 2 packs a day for about 20 years. So at current cig prices, if I had 335 days with no cigs my savings are

        73 cartons for a savings of $4380.00

Damn Damn DAMN. Plus my wife smoked a pack a day. So thats another 2190 for a total savings of $6570.00. Wow, I had not done the math. That is amazing amount of $$$ to spend on cigs. I guess my out of pocket costs for my son's college is going to be a bit easier in the next 2 years.

By the way. I stopped smoking on Feb 1st. My wife is still smoking a couple cigs a day, but has only been snusing about 3 weeks.

Yup. The worst thing that'll happen stocking snus, is you have a lot of snus(the HORROR! :^D). I can't see any negatives whatsoever.

Pounds of the SP, spoken as a true Patriot whalen  I have just started to receive the first of several largish snuff orders as well.
            1/2 pound
            Toque Spanish Gem
            1/4 pound each:
WoS Grand Cairo, WoS Gold Label, Toque St. Clements
            1/8 pound each
            de Kralingse Macuba and Chococreme

All purchased in the same spirit of tax avoidance.

Indeed ladysnus, a General Wintergreen under lip and active patriotism is a satisfying thing!

LOL, haven't you seen my posts about the evolution of my latest snus usage??

I use 5 snus only now. Excerpt a rare exception every other month, I am using only General White, Kronan, Grov White, with some Nick & Johnny Black for my sterk needs, and a small bit of Thunder for my occasional extra sterk needs. But only snus I use now.

Although there is some movement, my typical usage patterns, and what I order based off is...

              40% General White
              30% Kronan
              15% Nick & Johnny Black
              10% Grov
              5 % Thunder

Those percentages are important for me. Have found out I am happiest using more General than anything else, with a lot of Kronan thrown in when I need to cut that General taste, and the Kronan is always perfect for that. A few Nick and Johnny Blacks when I need a sterk. And a Grove as a special treat once or twice a day.

But 80% of my snus usage now is General, Kronan, and Grov. Not sure I can get any more old school, or "pedestrian" than that.

I just received 33 cans yesterday which I added to my small stash of maybe 10-15, and you bet I'll be ordering more than usual. There is a lot of talk of "I'm not panicking", and I too am not by any means panicking, but I am making smart purchases. Pretty soon my snus will be taxed at close to 100% of the manufacturer's price, and a 10% sales tax will be levied, so it's safe to assume that I will be paying well over 50% more on the retail price, if not a lot more. Tobacco in any form is already $8 per package here. Why wouldn't I stock up a little bit? Like lxskllr says, there is not a single negative aspect to this thinking, only positive. As I have come to understand life, this qualifies it as a "good idea" lol.

We are not too far behind you in California. A can of General OP is over $7.00 in the tobacco stores here. Anything I can get my hands on now is like buying at a 1/2 off sale!

Sage, I have been bad about cruising around the forum to keep up! You have the wisdom my man, been almost a year now and my snus journey has been as you predicted, all over the map with many changes, but for about 3 months I have been on the same kick, and it involves a small variety:

                      Grovsnus Original 50%
                      General Original 30%
                      Ettan Original 5%
                      Odens Kanal 5%

And for a Sterk: The wonderful General Sterk ( not Extra, just sterk) 10%. I find I have to always break up a usage pattern, Any one gets monotonous. I think getting closer to the classics is a good move after Pact, and They are classics for a reason.

                      For Snuff:

                      Grunt
                      Irish HDT #20
                      Wilsons SS
                      McChystals Mild Lemon
                      Hopfensnupf

And when the mood strikes, any one of about a hundred others. I am happy that I do not take smoke anymore, although I am sure that Pipe tobacco is a very rewarding pursuit. Enjoy, and I am sure it will all work out in the end.

                        Thank you.

Sounds about right. I was where you were when I first started to reduce my usage patterns a bit. And eventually, was down to using mostly just Retro when it was canned.

Six months trying to find a replacement it took me. 6 months!! Snus I was sure was gonna be it, suddenly I hated. LD White an example.

My current crop seems stable, and I do love how old school it is. Using just General, Grov, and Kronan?? Ask me 2 years ago if I would end up that way and I would say you were crazy. But I was open enough, kept going back and trying again, and my tastes continued to mature. And now, General is my main snus.

LOL.....at least no damn way I expect ANY of my core group will ever go away
