They tend to continue to dry (or soak in) for the 3 days. Check it day 3 and see how the moisture is for you. Like Ebenezer says - I too am surprised that you find 8ml too moist.

Had a couple questions about how do prepare the snus bucket.

      1) How much flavoring should I put in for the whole bucket? (I have two vials of the same flavoring)
      2) How much water should I mixed in for the whole bucket?
      3) After adding the flavor and the water do I stick the bucket in the fridge for 2-4 days, or do I separate the individual portions out on a cookie sheet?

Any information is a huge help for me and any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks, looking forward to reading your responses.

The basic instructions are here: http://refillsnus.com/

I wouldn't really recommend making the whole bucket at once.

        But...

        1. Somewhere between 1/2 of each (8ml total) and all of each (16ml total) depending on your taste.
        2. 170-190 ml including the flavor
        3. You can mix it up in the bucket, stiring carefully.

But, IMO, seriously consider mixing up single cans.

Check the blogs - some of us are documenting our "experiments" there.

I agree. I have never made a whole bucket, but I cannot imagine it would work out too well following those directions. When making just one can, if you don't evenly distribute the liquid in the beginning, they never even out. It really is more difficult than the directs lead on. I mean, stirring would not do anything IMO whatever portions you pour the liquid on will absorb it, and the rest will be dry. Might soak up a bit over the 3 days, but would be extremely uneven.

Definitely check out the blogs, some good info there to get ya started.

Used to be able to get it. Right now we can't because it does not have warning labels made for the US.

The warning labels have to cover a certain % of the bucket, which is a LOT. lol

I wonder whether the regulation specifies the size of the typeface of the warning, or just the size of the label. If it only says the label has to cover a certain percentage of the can, the label could be 90%+ blank space or graphic design, with only a small warning in say, a 10 or 12 point font.

I LIVE for this $hit! I got a SnusX bucket (with spearmint flavoring) for my birthday over the summer. I had been way too busy to add the flavoring. I counted out the SnusX portions into old snus tins, wrapped them in plastic, then foil, then froze them in the freezer. I have probably been through the equivalent of about 5 tins so far, without any flavoring.

First of all, it does STINK when the tub is first opened. It's not quite an ammonia smell, but definitely is a chemical smell. When first popping an unflavored portion in the mouth, there is a tad bit of a funky flavor. It's a bit 'soapy' to me, but that doesn't last long. These portions, when unflavored are DRY, DRY, DRY!. However, the funky smell and funky taste dissipate quickly for me. At that point, there is a mild tobacco flavor that I rather enjoy. The nic hit doesn't seem as strong as other regular portions, but I am partial to lower nic hits, even though I have been using regular strength portions for the past few months. I keep these portions in for hours.

Just this morning, I put about 3 ounces of distilled water, along with 1/3 of the Spearmint 8 ml flavoring into a measuring cup, then mixed it together. I next dumped the equivalent of 5 tins of the SnusX portions into the mixture and set it in the fridge to (finally) try the SnusX flavored. I won't be able to report on that for three more days.

I REALLY like the SnusX, even without any flavoring at all. I want a case of these tubs. I don't think they are available on the US market post-PACT as of yet. I was lucky to request the bucket as a gift prior to PACT. I have some Fairie's Finest Creme De Cafe (kahlua) flavored extract that I need to try next with these portions.

This has actually become one of my favorite portions, in spite of the initial funky smell and taste. For me, there is almost zero salt flavor, which I vastly prefer and I like the plain tobacco flavor, which is hard to find in snus. If this ends up available for sale in the US again, I will definitely buy more buckets. I will probably get some more of the Fairie's Finest extracts as well for further experimentation. I can see why some would be turned off by the initial smell and taste of the unflavored portions, but once in the mouth, this stuff is gold to me.

I was wondering about how the unflavoured snus would taste, I often find Snus a bit salty. Even the 'natural' flavor snus is full of smoke flavour and salt. Does anyone have any experience of using the unflavoured los bucket snus, I am tempted to give this a try.

I know this isn't available to many people now that PACT has been underway for a while, but I wound up getting my hands on one. To be honest, I'm super stoked to wind up with this much snus that is strictly unflavored. I love the way snus tobacco tastes and I'm not really stoked to try much flavorings outside of plain tobacco or a bit of bergamot. I do however, love single malt scotch and am wondering if anyone else has used it in flavoring snus. I also have a 5th of Jim Beam Rye Whiskey and I'm tempted to use that to flavor some too. My question is have any of you ever tried this and how did it turn out?

If anyone is interested I have 3 buckets and a bunch of flavors available All vacuum sealed and frozen since purchase. I also have an xtra bag of about 300 portions vacuumed sealed and frozen. You can use just about anything to flavor them with. Just take it easy with the flavoring. It doesn't take much to get the job done. Good luck experimenting!

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Sorry to bump an old thread but do you think it would be safe to use totally wicked eliquid flavour concentrates in my snusx? Got some through the post the other day but forgot to buy the aromas.

Ive got a tester can in the fridge atm, 8ml of water, 4 drops of TW flavoring.
