White Portions always break - anyone else have this problem?

This seems to happen to me with every white or black portion. After about 20 to 30 minutes they open on an end and the tobacco starts squeezing out. I never have the problem with regular portions, what's up with that?

Never happens with me. The only ones that really break on me are Gen Wintergreen and Olde Viking.

That seems like a strange problem. Do you store your snus in the fridge / freezer? I find portions are more likely to break when they dry out, which might explain why regular portions don't have that issue for you (added moisture), but even so white portions shouldn't break that frequently. If it's getting cut on your teeth or ripping due to high lip pressure, I'd try pushing it up a little farther, and just relaxing your lip. If it still breaks, you'll know it's more of an issue of the snus and not your actions. The general consensus seems to be that mint snus will more frequently have issues with splitting due to the oils effects on the adhesive agents, but it definitely should not occur with every white portion you use. It's also always possible you simply got a bad can / roll. I know v2 has been having some consistency issues with some of their products, but if this breakage occurs with every white portion you use, you might just be pushing them too hard. I do like to squeeze them a lot and I store them in the freezer and fridge. They open on the end, not at the middle seam. I will continue experimenting.

I've had a few portions of Onyx break open and just yesterday, had a General White open at the end. It's pretty rare when it happens for me though.

I want to be able use General Sterk. I haven't bought any yet but I have had this end opening problem with General Whites, Grov Black, Onyx, Gote Rape. I love the General ES but those are too much nicotine for regular all day use and originals are too weak

I've never had a portion break open, even General Wintergreen which seems to do it more than most. And I even constantly press the pouches with my tongue. Guess I have a soft tongue or something. :P

I don't mean this in a mean or offensive way, but man, it has to be something you are doing. We see complaints about General Wintergreen portions opening, but thats because of the mint flavoring they use. But I have used and still use some of the brands you mentioned and I have not seen portions open, nor have I read any posts about most or all of their portions opening. You must be squeezing the hell out of them or something. Were you a teeth grinder? lol Could you be squeezing the heck out of it in your mouth and not realize you are doing it?

I just like to squeeze the juice out between by lip and gum. Obviously I squeeze 'em too hard. It has only ever happened with white portions though, and it's annoying. If I can't change it I guess I'll just have to stick with originals. This is probably why I can's use the loose either.

General Onyx, White, Sterk, and Wintergreen have broken on me. I would try switching over to regular portions, since the sachet is moist, making it less likely to tear open. Original Portions rarely break open on me.

agreed, I imagine white portions breaking open being a plus to what's otherwise an abortion of a snus.

I've used snus for over a year, I mostly use white portions, and I constantly poke portions with my tongue and squeeze out as much juice as I can. However I've never had a portion break in my mouth.

Is this only happening with cans from one particular order? From where did you order? Was your order stuck in customs for a while?

I usually get my snus from getsnus. Onyx was the first one that I noticed this happening with and since then it has happened with almost every white portion I have used, and never with a regular portion. They always open on one end and then the tobacco will start coming out like from a tube of toothpaste. Simple solution to this problem will be to give up on the white portions which is okay I guess.

Never happens to me and I usually give white portions a good fluffing prior to putting in my lip.

I have only ever noticed it occasionally happen with General Wintergreen.
