    Dryish/Slimey Brown Portions

Does anyone have any ideas on how to liven up brown portions that are dryish and almost have a slimey feel to them in the mouth?

Cans have been keep refrigerated and only opened when I got to that tin and they're not due to expire until end July.

1 or 2 drops of coffee on each portion will really liven them up alot.

I don't count the drops I simply take the tin lid and dip the bottom edge into my morning coffee and try to put a drop on each portion. Some end up getting two drops. works for me.

    edited for accuracy.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

      Thanks PP, I'll try that.

Any type of liquid should work. I'll occasionally use lemon juice for citrusy snus, coffee as PP suggested for more earthy snus, or just water for those that I want to keep as close to original as possible. Just add a bit to the can, shake it up, and toss it in the fridge overnight. Should work pretty well. Good luck & enjoy!

          Hi Both,

So I added about 4 drops of water to 2 1/2 tins, gave them a good shake and kept them in the fridge for a bit.

Going back to them the portions looks darker and moisiter but they don't taste so good as if they were factory moisturised. Did I maybe not add enough water? or maybe there's more to the mist they usually spray on portions in the factory?

          Appreciate any info....

Damn! I just re-read PP's reply, I need to add 3-4 drops per portion right? So 1/2 a can would be about 48 drops?

I think PP is a bit more aggressive than I would be, but yeah, a bunch more than you used.

Curious, what portions exactly were they?? I have kept unopened cans if the freezer for 3 years, never had any issues. I don't keep unopened cans in the refrigerator, only a few opened cans, and over few months, those can definitely fry out.

Honestly, I have just used it, even knowing it might be a bit sub-par. At least through 3 years, a sub-par, slightly dry or even a bit slimy portion is still so much better than no portion

                That aint no sh*t.....

I usually just lay them all out on the counter/cookie sheet, and mist them once or twice on each side with a spray bottle. Throw 'em in the fridge for a day or two for things to even out - good as new. 8)

Just to add, I've found that it's good to loosen up the snus and give them a good "fluff" before you moisten them with a spray bottle. For some reason my Skruf ES portions are always a little bit dry and have a rough texture so I'll fluff them up and use a little bit of water when I open a new can up.

                    Thanks all for your input.

I think I've found how much water to add (to my personal taste) through experimentation now and found that giving them a good shake and leaving them in the fridge overnight they're pretty much good as new in the morning
