I would like to report something I noticed. For the past several months, I used nothing but Grov Original Portions. Recently, I took a can of Skruf from my fridge for a change of pace and used the entire can. When I went back to Grov Original, it tasted different! The notes of leather and smoke were much more pronounced than before. My hypothesis is the brain gets accustomed to one particular flavor and gets desensitized to the characteristics of a particular snus brand. The same theory could apply to food, cigarettes, soda, beer, etc. Has anyone else noticed this with snus in particular?

I've noticed That I can detect certain flavors after using a snus, and then coming back to it, but not so much from burn out. I always rotate my snuses to help prevent that. My favorite citrus is Gotland Gul, but I'll alternate tins with other citrus snus. That way it tastes even better when I come back. Same with "plain" snus. I alternate all of them so I don't get tired of 1 flavor.

Definitely agree with this. That's why snus reviews are interesting, and dip reviews are boring. The taste of snus is really tricky to peg down. It takes extended use and seems to change constantly.
Something like what you are talking about: I used to love Roda, but then I got into prima fint. When I went back to roda, all I could taste was that pruney/fruity undertone. I think this is because they are really similar, but the prima doesn't have the fruit flavorings.

Variety is the spice of life.
I too find this to be noteworthy. When I have different snus I enjoy them but they do make me enjoy my Grov more for the reasons you stated. I can't say that I've even gone a day w/o a Grov WP in a lonnnng time but I haven't used any one snus exclusively since last summer.
I still think Grov is about 80% of my snus diet but the supplemental flavors are a good thing. That's why I usually keep 4 going at once.
I noticed this when I started snuffing. The flavors of snuff made it easier for me to pick out the flavors in different snus. Now that I think about it it was probably more the lower frequency of snus due to snuff than anything else. Absence makes the heart grow fonder I guess.

i have only LOVED skruf for about a year, and appreciated very few others... and all the sudden a couple weeks ago, it really started tasteing like general. and general and all that taste like it, i have ZERO interest in. im no snus expert, i dont know what that taste is, but i hate it. and now my fav snus tastes like it, but i ordered some cla qui, and now my skruf doesnt tatse like general. yes yes odd in deed.

Another interesting thing is to use one flavor after another. I typically use GR #2 most of the time with some General Mint mixed in here and there. If I use a GR #2 within a few minutes of a mint, the mint flavor is gone but the general sweetness stays and changes the flavor of the GR.
