I got an email this morning giving advance notice of it appearing on their site. I don't know how much they have, so I thought I'd wait until this evening in case others got the email, and wanted to buy some. I picked up a box of Kardus, and an IceTool. I used UPS per their recommendation, and that was about $28 :^O. Better safe than sorry though. I don't mind paying that for some special snus. I've dropped well over that for a nice bottle of scotch. It's about what you'd expect to pay for a very nice dinner out, and I don't go on very nice dinners out, so I have to spend my money on something :^P

In fact why not just get a roll, it's a bargain at a measly $700

come to think of it, i'd rather try the stuff before buying. i don't care how premium they like to call it, i have to make sure before spending over twice the amount i normally pay for other good snus.
i also couldn't see myself ever buying this even if it is real good. only if it was a gift or had some nice drugs laced in it and made it last a long time, would i be elated to have it. i'm not a big fan of all that rich-bitch image and price tag. like fancy restaurants that charge over $100 a plate....it's FOOD....good greif. or some other exhorbitant amount for other everyday-things. sometimes that whole 'sophisticated' bullshit is primarily just there to further inflate people's already monstrous egos.

You're not paying for an image, you're paying for something special that you'll never see again. The price isn't out of line for a handcrafted product that comes out once a year. I've payed over $160 for scotch and I got full value out of the purchases. It's something I get every year or 2, and while it may not be $130 better than a $30 scotch, it's guaranteed to be a unique experience that won't be duplicated anywhere else(even from the same distillery). I'm expecting the Kardus to last me about 2 months considering the way I use lös snus. That's about $35 per month shipped, and I'll have a snus experience that I'll never have again in my life. Next years Kardus won't be the same, because it's made different every year. Everybody has their own fiscal priorities, but I don't mind having a unique experience for less money than a cup of crappy coffee costs ;^)
One other thing... When you buy at a certain level, there's no question of whether it's good or not. This isn't gonna be Phantom snus. It'll be the best product that a craftsman can produce. Just like scotch, I haven't bought a bad whiskey since the first bottle I got(which was about $20 btw). When you pay $30+ for your whisky it will be good, because you know it was crafted, and not just thrown out there for bar fodder ;^)

I know it's not going to be bad, that's not what i was saying, it's that I'd have to make sure how good it is per the money spent.
I mean unless you're heavily involved and make it your life to try these things out, it's still sort of an image/pride thing for others. People don't buy several thousand dollar wine half the time because they know how to taste and savor all the nuances and wine is their life. They buy it because they can and they think it looks cool doing so..Of course they'll be like 'hey that's some pretty damn good wine'...but does it warrant the redunkulous price tag? I mean, some things just are...they may be high quality and all that, but's thats all they are, higher quality versions of the same shit...but it becomes deified through a price and a not-so-common process of making it.

Yea, that's cool. I can understand that sentiment. I don't have much in the way of expensive habits or vices. I figure I can make up for it by getting my vices in the premium version LoL. I could easily spend over $50 a night at the pub, but I really don't go out that much. I make up for it by getting nice esoteric beer and spirits from the liquor store. I also like having things that are unique. It may sound stupid, but just knowing that the Kardus is limited will make it taste better. Most of life's experiences embody the mental as well as the physical. Whether it's food, drink, or sex, the mind makes up a large part of the enjoyment(or not) of your chosen pleasure.

like million dollar cars. they're cars. do they make me feel several hundred times better using them? i don't know. I never tried it. but I don't see myself buying a million dollar car, when I could say take that money and buy a couple more worthy things like a helicopter or airplane.
otherwise when i've spent a lot on something because i'd like to know that i 'have' it, i often find myself feeling guilty later and wondering what the hell i was thinking. I bought a lot of expensive 'unique' stuff of ebay. Now I have no real interest in it. If I regularly got enjoyment out of it, that's where I feel like it was money well spent. otherwise, the novelty factor wears off and then I feel like a sucker.
