I used to keep empty tins when I snused in late 80's and early 90's and build towers with them. Only Ettan los then, with occasional souvenir tins from Sweden and Finland thrown in. 252 tins it took from floor to ceiling. Well, nowadays I have kept a few metal tins of Taboca and Montecristo for twist chewing tobacco.

I want to keep them but have no practical reason for doing so. I've pondered this several times and even kept some for a few weeks then recycled them. The plastic ones can go to the recycling center and people there haven't a clue what they are. I think I have five or six still saved for that time I need to transport pins or screws or something. It hasn't happened in three years so I'm not thinking I'll need them but every time I finish I can my instinct is to save it. I produce one every 3 days or so so it might not make sense to save them all.
Good idea using the Gotlands containers as they do keep snus better. The LS metal cans were excellent too.

Taboca, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta at least, there might be some others. The afore mentioned tins are really cool, sleek and seal quite well. Good for storage and they look good.Originally posted by Jonnymh1 View PostThere are metal cans? I'm sampling about 20 brands (first order) and all of them are in plastic. Which brands are in metal cans?

I've started saving more and more good plastic cans such as the General portion cans because they will come in handy when experimenting with SnusX. I just saw on Northerner that you can buy some plain ol' empty cans for $2.12!!! I'm too cheap to buy those! I guess the upside of buying those cans is that they are brand new, no lingering scents.

That would mean the can cost twice as much as the product that's in it. That doesn't make sense. Heh, I doubt that the lingering odor would be worth two bucks though.
