I had no idea what snus was, but I was thinking ot getting some Skoal Bandits one day, just for "something to do", and was looking it up online, and somehow stumbled upon Camel snus, so I called my corner gas station and asked them, and they had it. so I got it.
POLL: Did you learn about snus from the 60 Minutes story?

I too just searched for things on wikipedia to be informed. The tobacco article has a bit about Snus. It always intrigued me since, but I didn't know you could order it without much hassle. at the time I was using a small amount of dip.
My friend came back from south africa with their variant of lucky strike, and some general original portion. Camel snus arrived in my area almost simultaneously. I tried all of them, but none of them replaced dip(I was still getting a buzz from tobacco at the time).
Then I ordered some snus portions from sweden, and the first once I put in was grov black. I was on a long drive and felt so dizzy I considered pulling over, but managed to keep it together. It felt like I just took some amphetamines. Now I'm hooked.

I learned about it about three years ago on cnn.com. They had a story saying a dr. in sweden said it was safer than cigarettes and dip. I made an order from northerner about 10 cans of Strongcut, Kicks wintergreen, Rocker white, Lucky strike white, skruf, and catch eucalyptus. I spit the whole time with it, and went back to smoking. I forgot about snus until one day I saw Camel snus coming soon sign. I remembered that I did like the taste and felt I was ready to quit smoking, so I bought a can of Camel, thought it was crap and headed back to Northerner. I'm not sure if I would feel the same way now, but I think I liked the Strongcut and Rocker snus alot.
