    My first pris

Hey everyone, this is my first post. When I first heard about snus, putting in your upper lip, I knew it was for me. Early in my childhood I'd had my frenulum removed by my orthodontist, so its as if I'm designed to snus!

I've been using portion snus for six months (and totally kicked smoking with it!), but today was my first experience with los. I'm pretty thrilled and want to share my experience.

Running low, I placed an order with getsnus.com so I could stock up. Curiously, they were completely out of several of my favorites so I got a little adventurous with my selections and wound up throwing a tin of Gotlands Anise Los and a cheap prismaster into the cart.

Fast-forward only two days, and here I am typing away happily with a nicely sized pris in my upper lip.

Before even opening the tin, the first thing I noticed was the weight. I can't believe you get twice the product for the same amount of money as the portions -- that could be a significant savings. Popping the top off, I was surprised by how good it smelled. Normally, I'm pretty put off by the aroma of portion snus, but that's not the case with this particular los.

The prismaster itself is a little dodgy (what do you expect for $2?), but it did the job and got a nice firm pris up into my lip without any mess at all. Gotta admit I expected a learning curve and wasn't prepared for it to be so simple. Immediately, I realize that because you don't have a little teabag, the snus is allowed to form to the shape of your lip and this increases the comfort dramatically. You're also in total control of how much snus (and how much vitamin N) you take at a time. Very cool.

Its been about 20 minutes now and the flavor is really starting to develop -- it's richer than portions and very natural tasting, the anise is a wonderful touch and I can sense a bit of oil on the tongue. I've been sipping some black tea and haven't had any problem whatsoever with the dreaded mudslide, and must admit I'm really enjoying the nic hit (stronger than portions, imo).

Thanks everyone for introducing me to this great product. I'm not sure if I'm ready to use it out in public, yet, but no doubt that it'll become mainstay of my snusing at home. The great people at getsnus.com also threw in a free tin of Ettan Los, and I'm excited to try that next.

Now, if anyone has any advice on how to take this damn thing out as easily as it went in....

Welcome to SnusOn, and the wonderful world of lös snus!

I remove lös by pulling it down with my tongue, and spitting it out. If I need discretion, I'll spit it into a napkin. Any small stray bits I just eat :^)

Welcome Pol Pot! That's a hell of a name. Sounds like a nice first experience with los. As for removal, a good swipe of the finger and perhaps a swish of water at the sink should do you just fine. Some people, myself included, have a harder time than others -- I don't have crooked teeth, but they are lined up in such a way that I can't get it all out quite so easily all the time, but after a couple years, I don't let it bother me. Unfortunatley it causes me to use los mostly at home, but I don't mind. Chances are you have a more normal experience and it comes out nice and clean. Doesn't matter either way, los is a wonderful thing no matter how you use it. Congrats on quitting cigs and finding snus, and welcome to snuson.

Xobeloot once posted about he simply puffs his lip a bit by blowing out and then simply letting it drop into the bin. This works quite well for an Icetool formed pris I've found. Less so with a hillbilly pinch. I've also found it to be easier with a coarser snus like Ettan. The finer grinds I find to mold to my gum a lot more and are harder to dislodge this way. Then the quick swipe works best IMO. Great choice on the Gotlands Grey by the way - Gotlands Grey is one of my all time favourites. Ps: Invest in an Icetool. Handbaking/hillbilly pinch is cool but the convenience of an Icetool simply can't be beaten.

Ha, I'm a billiards player and that's the nickname that tends to follow me around. Any killing I do is potting balls with a pole. I hear it so much that I forget that it might be offensive!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. A finger swipe and a splash of water is all it took and I'm ready to try the Ettan. I finally feel like a "real" snus user, now

I've been really impressed by all the Gotlands products I've tried and this los is no exception. I didn't think it could get better than the portions but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I'll definitely be picking up an icetool with my next order, thanks for the tip!
