Ya, I'd be interested to know, too. I didn't know there were so many other Americans who used snus besides me until I found and joined this forum. I have no clue what the actual numbers are, but I can guarantee you it's probably more than we think and growing slowly but surely. I don't know that I'd count that Camel and Marlboro stuff. It's definitely not authentic, top tier snus. I believe some day soon snus will make a big move over here to the States and it'll take awhile for Americans to open their arms to snus, but it'll happen.

I don't know anyone else that uses snus where I live. I have a few online buddies that use it, and you guys on the forum that's about it. I wish it would get more popular here

I've only been successful in getting two of my friends to order Swedish snus online. This out of probably a dozen or more people I've told. I've decided to quit proselytizing about it so much. I like the fact that I'm part of a "secret club". 8) I agree that the numbers are low but will rise in the future. I don't see the Camel product making much an impact in public consciousness. I'm sure it will just spread by word of mouth.

My totally uneducated guess of how many people are ordering snus in North America now: anywhere from 50,000 - 200,000. Maybe less. I have nothing to base this figure on..

I remember reading that Swedish Match sold more snus in the US than it did in Sweden - mind you, Sweden only has 9 million people to the US's 300 million. If 20% of Swedish men use snus, that would be the same, in terms of numbers, as 0.66% of US men.

Zero, are you sure, Swedish Match didn't include Timberwolf, Red Man and the other SM-owned brands of dip/chew. I can't believe, that snus is already that popular in the U.S. when I hear our American forum members, who often know noone else, who uses snus. No doubt, that snus can become that popular very soon, but until now, I guess it's still a niche-product.

                Cheers!

I know plenty of smokers and dippers, but none of them have ever heard of snus. It's apparently popular at the shop I go to, though; the owner says he puts in orders almost every week now.

I've met one guy who used snus, a passing traveler from Minnesota. I also turned my wife's boss on to snus (he's been trying to quit dip since the late 70s), but it didn't take.

I'm still evangelizing, though. Where I live here in the Midwest, lots of men use dip and when I bake up a pris, I have a bunch of explaining to do....What the hell's that? What's this foreign stuff on the bottom say? So forth.

I brag about the price, how Skruf is a top-tier, high-dollar snus in Sweden but is a complete steal (including the cost of shipping) here in South Dakota. What'd you pay for that can of Skoal? (I chuckle and shake my head).

I tell the net address...hopefully they leave the dark side and join the force.

So far I have made 4 converts to snus.

I'm in Iowa and I've been using snus for about a year and a half now. I opened up a 'club' on U. Iowa Facebook, to see if there were others, but so far no others have joined.
I've got friends in Las Vegas (NV) who have tried the portions, and they like the taste, which is surprising since they use Kodiak Long Cut (Wintergreen). They also liked the kick and the low profile of it. They still refuse to try the loose though. Odd.
At a party, I gave some General loose to a friend of a friend here who's a Cope Long Cut dipper and he really liked it. I don't see him often, so when he left the party, I left him my remaining half tin. He was really happy about it!
