LMAO!! I might appreciate the "coolness" of the mint where I'm going. I'm saving about a roll of Triumph mint to take with.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I quit cigarettes when they hit $5 a pack.
When snus hits $5 a tin, I'm history.
Anybody what to bet that in some states a tin of snus will cost more than $5 by this time next year?

Even though it was costing me $8.00 or more every day to smoke, I quit because I was concerned about my lungs more than anything else. The price drop in switching to snus was just a bonus. I am stocked up on snus and snuff so I won't have to worry for a while, but based on the amount I use compared to cigs, a can of snus would have to cost $30-$40 for it to be more of a financial concern than smoking was... so no, I don't plan to quit because of PACT. If I happen to reach a point where I don't feel I need/want it anymore, I might quit but that is at least a few years down the road and will have nothing to do with the government's attempt to control my habits.

I picked up a can of General loose locally here in Jersey a couple weeks ago and it was just over $5.

Same with me, cost is just icing on the cake right now. I don't drink really, so I don't mind paying for this at all.

                    I aint quiting.

I think it's incredibly ironic that the same do-good fackwads that think saving us from evil tobacco are some of the same bastards legalizing pot shops. Not taking a stance against pot, just using it as an example.

Am I the only one that sees the hypocrisy?

It comes down to the taxes. I know.
Uncle Sam gotta wet his beak, just not on cigars. Cigars would be ridiculous. Politicians smoke cigars. BUT The rest of that tobacco shit NEEDS TAXED ASA-farking-P!!!! DAMMIT.

                    Free country my ASS!!

I'll hold on to my guns and religion, and my snus.

Good thing NRT can advertise their products with fancy pictures and flavors and sell them right at Wal-Mart. That's wholesome and lobbyist approved.

PACT is going to be like immigration law. Something on the books for some turd stain bureaucrat to hang his hat on and never actually follow through with funding for enforcement.

It's like the gun control freaks. They want more laws. We won't enforce the ones we already have.

Alas- every great civilization reaches it's pinnacle. We've crested. Gluttony and excess are the sure signs of the imminent collapse. Meanwhile Washington should be handing out fiddles. Nero may have stood alone as the emperor of Rome when it burned. We can put together several orchestras with all the dipshits who've contributed to our upcoming failure.

LOL, what on earth does PACT have to do with anything.

Seriously, doesn't much affect me other than maybe a few extra hoops. For now, NC's tax on smokeless is only 12%. But even IF a can becomes $6. So what. That is still more than half less than I was spending on cigarettes. Smoking, I smoked 2 packs a day. Snus, i use a bit less than half a can a day, I just don't see what the issue is spending less than $3 or $4 a day on tobacco. I spent FAR more for years and years when I smoked

No. They can pry my tobacco out of my cold dead lip...or scrape it out of my nose. Their preference really.

I'm talking about when you have to pay $5 a tin mail order and a roll costs $50. General sells for only $3 a tin here in Western PA.

Expanding debt and a shrinking economy = collapse.
I don't see any way out of the mess we're in.
I'm willing to bet my snus use outlasts our government.

I might have to. What I pay now isn't too bad, but the price is going to at least double for me in Wisconsin (100% mfg price tax + federal tax + UPS shipping). Gonna have to go back to chew which is still only 4 bucks a can here.

Sure, I can drive down to illinois and pick up some general WG once in awhile, but they don't sell anything in the US I'm a huge fan of.
