    Licorice snus and OT Original

I got osme oliver twist original tonight and after a few bits, read a few reviews. It is referred to as a "Licorice: flavor. I personally hate black licorice, but I really like this flavor. I am wondering if licorice snus has this same taste?

I haven't had the Oliver Twist, but the licorice snus I've had is pretty much pure licorice flavor. I think they're great, but I love licorice It's not that common a flavor in the USA, so that makes it kind of special for me. If you really don't like licorice, I'd stay away from the licorice snus. I've had some "regular" snus that has licorice flavor in the background, but it's pretty subtle. All of the brands that advertise licorice are quite strong.

I've had the Oliver Twist. It is similar, but different. With the twist, it is almost straight "licorice". The snus is somewhat mellower, although each different in their own way.

I like licorice, and it is a frequent snus for me. I had Off Road Strong, which although I don't mind, most people feel the flavor is "off". It is unlike any other snus I have had. I have frequently gotten the LD black. That licorice is so strong, it can be a bit overwhelming after a while. I can not really handle multiple snus of LD in a row. Right now, I have been using Metropol Licorice portion licorice which is may favorite licorice yet. Good licorice flavor, but balanced and lasts a LONG time. I have also had Mocca, which technically is Anise flavored. For me, it was too mild, and really didn't get enough taste out of it.

If you haven't tried Metropol Licorice portion , I highly recommend it. If you want a very mild form of licorice, then Mocca might work for you.

I keep forgetting to throw some Oliver Twist in with my order. It is the perfect addition when I am just below the next weight classification

Another quality licorice flavor is found in Gotlandssnus Gra (grey). It is Aniseed flavored (I'm wondering if anis is just the name of the plant they derive licorice from or a colloquial name??) because it tastes just like licorice, with the signature background of gotlandssnus flavor. Great stuff.
I find it rich, but not sickening rich.
A brand that you might find sickening rich involving licorice is Roots Lime and Licorice. Holy cow. I dont know if its the nicotine or what but that stuff is potent and can make one rather dizzy and nauseous

Aniseed and liquorice are technically different things, coming originally from different plants. But they are similar, and according to wikipedia are often used together.

Liquorice confectionary is usually quite different in Scandinavia to the US or UK (stronger and salty rather than sweet), it's an intersting thing to try if you find some in Ikea or wherever.

My favorite liquorice snus is metropol although I wish it wasn't a white portion. Got to get round to trying the offroad version.

The OT Original-flavor is in large part from the fire-curing and fermentation of the tobacco. This is certainly hard to achieve with snus. I also have searched for a snus, which is similar to OT Original, but gave up, after I had tried Metropol Licorice and LD Black, which are worth a try anyway.

                Cheers!
