    Snus and Snow

So, what does snus and snow have in common? Well, not much I suppose, other than snus is Swedish and it snows a lot in Sweden. But I woke myself up to watch the snow come down. First real snow we have had here in Raleigh for a couple of years.

Since I am up, decided to put a Metropol Licorice portion in. You know what? Snus really does go well with snow. 8)

They say it won't last. Should be all rain by noon. I kinda hope they are wrong. I would love to take my new Saab out in it. (Well, old really, she is an 89 900 convertible). Then I can do my snus while driving my Saab in the snow.

hahaha while headbangin to some badass Swedish metal! >.< \m/

I love snow. I'm really sorta bummed all the snow we've had was in mid december, and then it heated up real fast before christmas and melted off and been that way since except for a couple of separate days i think maybe it snowed a half inch and melted the next day or some shit.
    cheesy.
I like winters. I'm so sick of hearing people piss and moan when they hear snow is coming. I mean I know why, but it reminds me so much of people bitching when it's cloudy or something. It's good to have clouds and cold weather, as a means to have diversity in weather and give more character to the year.

That's really a nice picture - and what makes it even more amusing is the fact that while you're driving around looking all Swedish in NC, a lot of Swedish people is driving around looking very 'American'! I'm not kidding, rockabilly aesthetics are (still) very popular there ... and they have big clubs for owners of huge US cars, and in the summertime you'll practically see them everywhere.

Well, having just spent my christmas holiday back in Canada with the folks, I can also attest to the synergy between snus and snow. In particular, it provides a nice warming of the blood for when one is out in the cold and shovelling the white stuff

I don't think I can make that connection between snus and snow. I love snus, but the snow in the quantity we get here is pretty depressing. This time of year you feel like you are down a hole, with high snowbanks, darkness, trapped in a coat and boots and struggling to get around in the snow. It confines life and traps old folks and others indoors and causes lots of accidents. Some like it because they like to ski and skate and so on, but to me that doesn't trump the ability to go out and get on with regular everyday life. You can have it. I would prefer to see it in pictures and gush about how pretty it is without having to deal with the reality of it.

I am glad to say that the last bit of snow here finally melted couple of days ago. It's coming back, that's for sure but right now I don't care. Past monday I finally got a few cans of Ettan after being two weeks totally without snus and might even say I was depressed then (and there were snow in those two weeks). Now - no snow and enough snus to carry on, so come to think of it - there might be a certain connection between snus and snow.

Yes, she is. She is my replacement vehicle while I am healing after getting run down on my motorcycle. Like snus, she was a wonderful discovery and I have absolutely fallen in love with the c900 and spend much time online discussing all such things Saab much like I do here with snus.

Alas, the snow event here lasted only about 45 minutes before turning into a bit of freezing rain and now just rain. I know what folks are saying about too much snow. But here in Raleigh, I would much prefer the pretty white to the typical gray and rainy we usually get. I don't mind when it's cold enough to snow, but just almost cold enough and cold and rainy kinda sucks.

Now if I could just find that Swedish girlfriend to complete the trifecta, she could keep me warm and all would be good. Anyone know any good candidates, please send her my way. And for whatever it's worth, I do look a tad better then my Avatar shows.

I can definately relate. I grew up in Rochester, NY. Gray, Icy, cold, and nothing but snow and rain. When i moved to FL (8 years), and then to GA(about 3 years now), I love seeing a nice snow now and again. The white by far beats the gray and rain.

Have you done any additional turbo work to the saab?

No, right now, I am in my desperately poor stage. Missed a couple of weeks from work due to my accident. My last doctor's appointment is Monday. Hopefully, will settle with insurance company in a month or so so no $ for it yet. We will see how much $ I get, and if I decide to buy another bike. The Saab will either get fixed up well, or just stay my cold weather/grocery/date car. Haven't decided yet.

In the meantime, I hang out on Saabcentral.com learning what I need to troubleshoot her on the cheap. Her idle was set too low when I got her, no dash lights, and an alternator problem. Have been able to fix all without spending a dime yet. If I put premium in her, she boosts well into the red zone, so I may just leave her be for a while.

But she is an amazing car. She feels so solid on the road, Has 221,000 miles on her with no rust. (New low mileage used engine and Tranny put 60,000 miles ago). I plan on keeping her going for another 10 years

In my opinion, snus and cold weather in general go hand in hand. I'm not sure why, but it seems I enjoy my snus more when cold weather arrives. Here in Arkansas, we have very strange weather. In the summer it is very hot and very humid. In the winter it can be 50's and 60's at one point and then 20's or 30's for highs the next. It's very cold, windy and kinda wet here now and that just makes me want to snus more. Plus, I'm single and I can do whatever I want and not have to answer to a lady. That's not all that great sometimes, though!

LOL, yeah, my wife and I separated a year ago. Sure, I can do whatever I want. Then go home to a lonely bed. Not sure I am ahead by that equation.

On the bright side, they are now expecting Raleigh to get slammed with snow Saturday. We have a cold front that will bring temps down to 16 degrees, and another warm front bringing moisture up from the gulf. The weather guys are still being a bit cagey, they don't want to go too far out on a limb 2 days early, but we have the makings finally of some REAL snow.

It's been a while since we had enough to go sledding. We have a Flexible Flyer stored at my wife's business. Gotta MySpace her so we can work out the custody agreement.
