Take a General White Portion; Unwrap it from the paper.. If you bake it, None of the salt that hits you instantly comes on like that.
TRY IT. Also; If you suck on the plain paper without the tobacco contents it tastes as if thats were THE MAJORITY of the sodium-chloride taste is found. The paper is obviously sprayed in a 'brine' solution. It must act as a natural preservative to add life to the cans once they leave the factory.
I NOW LOVE LOS SNUS BECAUSE IT'S MISSING THE HEAVY SALT BURST IN THE PAPER-PORTIONS....... NIGHT & DAY DIFFERENCE!!!

Sounds interesting, but I doubt it. If you look up how it is made, you'll see the salt is added straight to the tobacco. Though I guess in an original portion, the salt might migrate somewhat to the paper during the second wetting process, making it taste more "concentrated" on the paper.

I have noticed the white portions are just as salty, so that would not be from the after spray. But I don't even notice the salt anymore.

I remember it tasting salty but that goes away with time. Also, I think you taste the tobacco itself more with los and the juice more with portions so it tastes saltier

              Bingo
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

It's possible the salt just crystalizes on the portion bag vs staying in the snus. I'd be surprised if they used different amounts of salt for portions vs loose. I've had some portion snuses where you can see tiny salt crystals around the portion material, but have never had the issue with loose. Whatever works, I don't really taste the salt much anymore anyways.

I've noticed the crystals like CRAZY on Oden's Kanel ES Portion.

I don't notice salt anymore either. Well, rarely.

I think it leeches through to the paper too and if you think all caps are bad now, wait until GODOFSNUS mixes a couple of different snus together. Like, say General and Roda. That's the first and only reason I've torn open portions. Good results...wait...GOOD RESULTS.
