    General Onyx

Is this snus worth the increased price? What is so special about it?

I think it's worth the extra cost. The flavor's quite close to Nick and Johnny lös, with a strong lemon flavor, and a bit of licorice in the background. The packaging's impeccable, and the pouches have been sanded or something. They're very soft and easy on the gums. I think it's a must buy, at least to try a can. You may not ultimately like it, but it should definitely be tried.

The soft bags are what I dislike about Onyx, they seem slimy. I think they are worth a try though but I think all snus is really.

I've been through three cans of General Onyx now, and I haven't encountered the slimy feeling from them. I do quite like the bag material, though. Strangely, Skruf Strong portions seemed slimy and unpleasant to me after 30 minutes or so.

Onyx is one of my favorite portion brands. I don't really like the rest of the General line too much, but I always have a few cans of Onyx around.

I've gotten the slimy bag feeling from these as well. My solution is breaking up the tobacco in the bag and spreading it around evenly, then folding it in half hot dog style. Stays in place better in the lip. My favorite way to use portions. Except in the case of the Granit Maxi portions, which stay in place well without modification.

Onyx can be best described as a prilla that sticks to your gum and stays put. I guess this is one of the best features of the black portion that the "teabag" material is of much better quality. This is an excellent snus much like General but with an extra all around finishing of the product. Worth the extra money deffiantely. I would also like to see more black portion products around, especially if they are the quality of Onyx.

Whats with the black bags? Anything I should be worried about? Tastes pretty good though.

I'm actually enjoying my first pris of Onyx as I type this. It's very good and has been in a little over an hour and I get no "slime".

Very tasty - I would have to disagree with the Nick and Johnny comparison, however. I am in the minority and couldn't stand N&J. I really like this Onyx, though.

Interesting that you say that. I just got my shipment of N&J today and I think I have found my new favorite snus!

When I get my $10 from Camel, I'm gonna pick up a tin or two of this

I also notice the slimy bag syndrome with the Onyx portions, I'm not that fond of that. Also, the flavor doesn't really do it for me. I don't mind them that much, but I seriously doubt I'll be ordering many more tins of it. Just thought I should speak up as most people really seem to like the Onyx a lot, and it's always good to have different opinions!

                        Aloha,
