I finally tried Skruf Xtra Stark Los, and.....

Got my order in this week. First shipment since Getsnus was bought out by Northerner. No problems and I'm quite pleased. Shipping time was the same, about 4-5 days via UPS. Another plus, the snus doesn't expire until August. One problem I used to have with Getsnus was that the snus they shipped would have expirations only about a month away, but not this time. It also came in a large manilla bag vs. a box. Unsure yet if I like this method.

On to the Skruf Xtra Stark Los. General Ekstra Sterk Los is my staple snus. But a while back I tried Skruf Stark los and really liked it for the different texture and aroma. So this time I added five cans of the Xtra Stark los.

I've read quite a few reviews on this product, and most people seem to say things along the lines of "This will knock you on your ass!" or "Don't try it for the first time while driving!" etc... While it has a great flavor, I'm just not getting that "Knock ya on your ass" effect. Perhaps I have an extremely high nic tolerance. Which would probably be why I only prefer Sterks, as regular nic content snus has never satisfied me.

I was really hoping for a dab-will-do-ya snus. I think I'll just stick to the Skruf Stark (10mg/g). It really seems to have more moisture and a better longer lasting flavor than the Xtra Stark. I can't tell any difference in the nic hit. I really hope that Skruf submits to the U.S. FDA requirements and is available after PACT. I just love to open the can sometimes and take a big whif. The aroma is nice!

Hey NS. You probably already know this, but you can most likely lower your nic tolerance over time. When I first started snus, I was a heavy smoker, and I had a hard time getting satisfaction with regular snus. I did a lot of sterks, and still love General ES. But, months later, I use regular-strength snus all the time and it's quite satisfactory.

If you choose to do this, you might find Skruf XS will become that dab-will-do-ya snus you're looking for. I haven't tried XS, but Oden's ES is kind of that way for me now. A regular-sized pris of that can make my head spin (I don't think I have any portions of that).

Another thing you probably already know: snus doesn't really expire. We're used to thinking of such dates as "expiration dates", but it's really just a best-by date, and I can tell you I have plenty of snus past the date that tastes just fine. Some of it has even been out of the freezer for quite a while. All it seems to do is lose a little moisture, and that can be fixed with a little distilled or filtered water. It does seem that certain snus, Gots green comes to mind, does lose a little something. But, for what it's worth, I was a freshness fanatic at first, and now I can be much more laid-back about it, because I see that with snus, it's really not such a big deal. My two cents, fwiw.

I tried the portions, but I'm thinking the lös will be better. Like the Stark Portions, the Extra Starks just drip too much for me. However, no such problem with the Stark lös. Personally, my morning go to is Odens ES Lakrits for a nice nic hit.

Yeah, I would love to be able to order a roll of Ettan, Grov, or the discount Kronan. But I just really plow through it like candy, plus I really like a strong flavor. Something I probably need to work on. As for the exp. dates, I know snus can be good for over a year refrigerated, I think it's just something in the back of my mind. Thanks for the motivation though!

I love this snus. I find it to be the most flavorful, longest-lasting, and all-around best offering from Skruf.

I too found Skruf Xtra sterk to be weaker than I thought it would be. it's simply not stronger than Thunder or Odens regardless of whatever they claim. It's not like there's no nicotine but it's close. The portions are just ok but the los is awesome imo.

I have never had the Xtra but Skruf Stark never hit me very hard. Probe on the other hand was strong to me (and nasty). I think to some degree body chemistry must come into play.

I use General Ekstra Sterk Los all day and I don't get any buzz from it. The first time I tried it is a different story. I'm probably going to order a roll of Skruf Xtra Stark before PACT rolls in. I like how Skruf Los never falls apart.

                        This

To be honest I was quite surprised that the Skruf Xtra Stark didn't hit me harder, but then again I only used it after dinner and a big meal always seems to take the edge off high nic snus.

Unfortunately my time with the can was cut short when I managed dropped the damn can - and of course it landed face down.

Overall I liked it a lot as the Skruf flavour was more pronounced than with the regular Skruf stark lös.

Will I order it again? Probably. At the moment I mainly use GES (portion and lös), N&J and Skruf Stark white so it will fit in nicely with that line-up.

I wish they made a long cut, I just can't get on well with the los cut.
