    Elixyr Power Energy

a mix between portionsnus and a energydrink. This power energy snus contains both caffeine and taurin as well as having a higher nicotine level as regular snus.
I don't think I like the sound of this! Why don't companies release some new interesting loose varieties instead of all these awful novelty portions.

Sounds like a portion of Snus with a ProPlus ground up in it.....

I went ahead and picked up the new line. Picked up the new Retro as well. I don't have high hopes for either but what the hell.

OK, so it is a caffeine-added portion snus, not a beverage. I will get some.

(thanks to http://snusblog.blogspot.com/ . The guy who runs the blog always has interesting backgound-informations about brands and manufacturers, but only in German language).

                  Cheers!

"Die bisher für nur für Rauchtabak verwendete Marke Elixyr kommt nun auch als Snus in den drei Sorten Original, Pepparmint und Power-Energy. Da hatte man also beim Hersteller, der in Snus-Dingen auf den Namen Rebel Tobacco AB hört, die glorreiche Idee, Energy-Drinks mit Snus zu vermengen. Kommentar dazu spare ich mir. "

                    here is a crappy translation

"So far for only mark used for smoke tobacco Elixyr comes now also as Snus in the three sorts original, Pepparmint and power Energy. There one had the glorious idea thus with the manufacturer, that hears OFF in Snus things on the name Rebel Tobacco, to blend Energy drinks with Snus. I save for comment on it."

Sounds like he has no comment on this stuff. maybe more to come down the road. It also sounds like this is Rebel tobacco's first attempt at snus?

Sounds like he's not going to try the stuff.

According to Rebel Tobacco's website ("om oss" - about us) the cigarettes are produced in Luxemburg, by Heinz Van Landewyck (a big name in Europe's tobacco business) and the snus is produced "under license", no manufacturer is mentioned. Rebel seems to be a trading company, no manufacturer.

                      Cheers!

Haha, yes, now I actually read the translation. It's totally misleading.

"Kommentar dazu spare ich mir" is somehow colloquial language and means "I save my time and will not make a comment". Also the word "glorious/glorreich" is used in an ironic way...

Never trust an automated translation! I use automated translations only when I want to have fun. O.K., sometimes I use them in hope for real results, but it always ends in fun.

                        Cheers!

Chainsnuser - What's your take on what's been written about this Snus? I won't pretend to understand German.

I think I'll try this snus. The only question is, if the caffeine-content is high enough for me to cut down a bit on coffee . My next order will be in a month, so I hope we'll get some reviews beforehand.

I'll simply translate the full text:
"Die bisher für nur für Rauchtabak verwendete Marke Elixyr kommt nun auch als Snus in den drei Sorten Original, Pepparmint und Power-Energy. Translation:
"The trademark Elixyr, formerly only used for smoked tobacco, now comes also as snus, with three brands, Original, Pepparmint and Power-Energy. So, on the manufacturers part, who, when it comes to snus, answers to the name Rebel Tobacco AB, one had the glorious idea to mix up energy-drinks with snus. I will not comment it."

The guy, who runs the blog uses a highly elaborated language (very hard to translate) to express his findings and views about snus. In this case his disfavor for the idea of an "energy-snus" alone.

He always intersperses weblinks into his texts, mostly to Swedish, British or American websites and he seemingly has a great talent to find the most informative links for a certain snus-brand or topic. BTW, he thinks, that this forum is the best snus-forum, despite of three German snus-forums, which he also likes and he says in one topic, that he uses to lurk around here. So, I thought it's only fair to mention, that I got the link http://www.rebeltobacco.com/ from his blog.

                              Cheers!
