    Montecristo

When I was at my local tobacco shop I noticed they have a sign for Montecristo cigars and sell Montecristo cigars. I thought they were Cubans, so why can they sell the cigars in the US but we cant buy the snus from the online shops? I really thought the stuff was illeagal, even though I did manage to get a roll of Montecristo snus.

Yes it is. You a fan? I like his music and like watching his live videos but I don't condone his actions. Like the whole thing with him going to prison for raping that woman in Michigan.

It won't be Cuban tobacco, cigars, if they are selling it at a local Tobacco shop.

        GG.... no comment.

I watched a bunch of GG videos on youtube, whatever I could find, and some talk show stuff too, and I did not have a favorable impression of the guy. He seemed like a nut case, idiot, going just for pure shock tactics, yet believing them himself, and how he got so many fans, I can't figure out. But I must admit, I have not really examined his music, so I can't comment much on that. But, being what he was, I guess he is an offbeat weird personality with some self destructive insane ways.

The Montecristo and Romeo Y Julieta cigars you see in your local tobacco shop are not made in Cuba from Cuban tobacco. They are made elsewhere, like Honduras and Nicaragua.

The Montecristo in U.S. are from the Dominican Republic. Many Cuban brands have Dominican counterparts.

                    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montecristo_(cigar)

After the Cuban Revolution and the nationalization of the cigar industry in Cuba in 1961, Menéndez and García fled to the Canary Islands where they re-established the brand, but were later forced to quit due to copyright disputes with Cubatabaco. In the mid-1970s, the operation was moved to La Romana in the Dominican Republic and released for the US market, where Cuba's rights to the brand weren't recognized due to the embargo. Menéndez, García, y Cía is now owned by Altadis SA, who controls its distribution and marketing in the United States.

After the embargo will be fun... Cubatabaco vs. the founding families that moved their operations to other countries.

Montecristo is good snus. Cigarwise, I prefer Cohiba and Partagas. I've tried those fakes, they're sold in Europe under different names, they're ok but not the real thing.

i dont feel like montecristo is that great. at least the portions. never tried the loose. the portions remind me of gotland portions, which i find too dry. and the taste is like a bolder jaks classic.

as for gg, im not a fan. though he did live in muskegon for a while, which is the neighboring city to where i live, and where a lot of the punk rock shows i used to go to were at. im too young to have ever seen him, but his influence lives on in the muskegon punk scene. the owner of the icepick (one of the oldest punk clubs to my knowledge) was the drummer for gg allin and the disappointments.

ok had to edit again to add this video i just found after googling the icepick for shits and giggles.

(i no longer know how to embed a video on snuson)

im actually at that show. im the one sitting on the bench by the wall with the black and green track jacket and the stupid hat, not talking to anyone. haha. it says 2004 so i mustve been 16. haha. awesome.

How is everybody getting this stuff? I would love to try it but fear that I might get taken down by a team of plainclothes policemen as I am going to the post office to get my package. I watched this show called "Locked Up Abroad" where this guy got nabbed at a Korean post office trying to pick up his package of drugs.
