So my answer is...I don't really know as I've never cared to track how much I use. The key for me is, what is my body telling me? If I feel like I need more nicotine, then I'll pop in a fresh portion. It should be noted that I will leave a portion in for hours on end...my rule is, if I can still taste it, then leave it alone. Unless I "feel" the need for more nicotine, then a fresh portion/prilla is in order.

I'll put myself in the moderate light level. 5 to 6 grams a day, either loose or portions I end up doing the same amount. Add to that a few toots a day at most of snuff. I have a hard time doing to much nasal snuff. Between the cold dry northern Midwest winters and spring and fall allergies I can't depend on it for a regular source of nicotine. A few times a week I just need something that I can't find in smokeless so I have a bowl in the corncob. 3 to 4 bowls a week maximum but most of the time less.

The amount of portions, or pris one uses in a day, is also related to how long they usually keep it in. I usually go over an hour, usually about an hour and a half. If I cut it down to a half hour, I would use more portions, but for me, it's still going well for over an hour, sometimes almost 2.

I use 10 grams of Extra Sterk a day. I have always had a high nic tolerance. Most kids dad's have them chain smoke a pack of cigs when they are caught smoking. Did that....no problem. I just finished a chaw of Levi Garrett and I popped in two grams of Skruf Xtra Stark. No problems at all. Damn't, I have a serious problem.

I'm fully addicted, but at least I'm not smoking ciggs anymore. Here's an average day for me:
Wake up 6am- ES portion
7am - ES portion
8am - ES portion
Breakfast
9am - Regular loose
10am - Regular loose
11am - Regular loose
12am - Regular loose
Lunch
1:30pm - Regular loose
2:30pm - Regular loose
3:30pm - Regular loose
4:30pm - Regular loose
Start drinking beer
5:30pm - Probe Loose
6:30pm - Skruf Stark Loose
7:30pm - GES Loose
8:30pm - Skruf Extra Stark Loose
9:30pm - Odens Extra Sterk Kanel Loose
dinner
bed with an extra sterk portion in
repeat
Note: the loose prillas are at least 2.5-3 grams.
So that's about 16 or so a day. How some of you guys just use a few a day I have no idea. But that's cool, whatever works. Just glad we all found something that does work.

Well, probably about 20 portions of General White. For more than a year now, I've never not had a portion in. (Well, except while actually chewing food. So, subtract about an hour a day.)
I'm not sure how much nicotine is actually in the portion I have in my mouth when I wake up in the morning. All I know is it tastes awful, and gives me incredibly intense dreams.
I have yet to punch any babies - either during the day, or in my dreams - though I tend to avoid babies generally. If anything, snus keeps me calm enough to cope with the rampant idiocy I'm constantly surrounded by.
So far, so good.
