    Po'boys and PACT

Proposed anti-PACT strategy for the po'boys among us: Although this has been touched on recently I decided to run the numbers. Buy two rolls of loose--your choice but for this exericise I used Skruf ES and Thunder Original. Cost--about fifty bucks. Number of possible prises--probably close to 1500 if one buys ES loose and averages less than a full one gram per pris. Cost---approximate 8 cents per pris. Cost of six per day average--48 cents. Cost per week--about $3.50. Approximate duration of usage of two rolls--over three months. Adjust as necessary for other brands or rates of usage.

Even if PACT costs were to double these figures that would still be one hell of a deal, even with the priciest loose out there and so cheap that all but the completely destitute could afford it. If you don't like loose or can't use it at work my heartfelt sympathies.

You can do SnusX for about 5-7 cents a portion everything included.

Yup loose is the key although it must be said that even if one chained Onyx all day it would still be cheaper than smokes, even cheapo reservation sticks.

        SnusX Loose is ridiculous.

        900 1 gram pris for $20. That's like 2-3 cents per pris.

        At 8-10 a day, that's like $80/year.

Just make sure you like the snus before buying rolls of it. There's nothing worse than having a roll of something that you can't stand.
One advantage to loose is that if you don't like the taste you can mix it with some snus you do like.

A can of loose Ekstra Sterk lasts me 4.5 days. I was originally spending 7.50 a week when I dipped. I now spend 4.05 a week on snus. That's a savings of well over 150.00 a year. Pre-PACT, snusing is not only cheaper, but healthier for me. Post-PACT, I'm pretty sure dipping will be cheaper. "But snus will still be healthier" you say. I won't be healthy at all when my wife sees the post-PACT credit card bill Swedish Match's TimberWolf and RedMan are my plan B.

I will be switching to a diet of mainly lös snus after this month. If I could get Tre Ankare lös there wouldn't be any reason to use portions again. Twice the tobacco for less money. Win win.

Even if you don't use lös all the time, using it as part of your rotation would lower your snus expense. Save the brand name portions for times when you can't use lös. Better yet, use SnusX portions, and save even more.

I'm going to be enjoying Swedish Match made dips and the little amount of los snus I have laying around when PACT is in effect.
When I run out of snus I'll be a full time SM dipper.

We might someday get a quality US snus at the local stores.

What Swedish Match owned companies dips/chews are there?

                          Red Man, dip and chew
                          Longhorn dip
                          Timber Wolf dip
                          Southern Pride chew

Is Pinkerton the only oral tobacco company Swedish Match owns in the US?

                          Am I missing some?

No, I don't think so. I think you pretty much covered it. There's a cigar shop here in Tulsa that sells General, but I think they only sell portions, and it's like 7 bucks a can!
