    Empty Containers

I have hundreds of empty containers sitting in a bin. Any idea's for uses for these things? Some I use for fishing tackle and nuts and bolts.

I might just throw them out but I think there's gotta be some good use out of these things?

Do any of you use them for anything?

Once I get enough Thunder frosted mini cans i think I am gonna line the bottom of my glass coffee table with them. That is all I have figured out yet. I have boxes full of empties. I can't seem to get rid of them.

I can't seem to think of anything but decoration. I really want to build something with the actual cans.

I used to keep all mine with the idea that I would use them for something but finally started throwing them away when I realized they were piling up much faster than they got used. So now I usually keep a couple or so empty cans on hand for when I need them for something like nuts and bolts, but just throw the others out. Yesterday I used three empty portion cans to store some loose--I realized I had cans of four different types of loose open in the fridge and figured I should stick all but one can in the freezer since I go through loose more slowly than portions. But I took a couple or three prises worth of loose out of each of the three cans destined for the freezer and put them in empty portion cans so I can keep those in the fridge for occasional use while I'm working through the one full can I left in the fridge. When I got this idea, I was glad I had three empty cans laying around.

I haven't thrown any away either. Don't have a clue what they're good for, tho.

My dad wants to take his and fill em up with black powder and stick a wick in them for the 4th.... I like the idea but the police station is down the road from his house so that may not fly nor do I want to be around when they show up. I have had my fun with the PoPo the last 3 years.

I save all of my tins. I put small items in them, and when the huge health warning labels start, I'll probably put my snus in the old tins. I always thought the paperboard tins would make nice fire starters for camping. Fill them with oil soaked cotton bits or something, then light the whole thing when you need to start a fire. It would be minimally toxic, and convenient to carry.

We used to make those with parafin wax and sawdust in old egg cartons.

I collect them in stacks on my dresser beside the bed and .... well I can't say that anymore. Use your imagination.

I like the fire starter idea.

I toss every can. My dad is a hoarder, I'm terrified of waking up one day surrounded by stuff.

I even take a tin with three or four portions and pop them into my next can so I can throw it away sooner. Mostly because I don't want the can I'm grabbing on my way out the door to be nearly empty.

The only cans I've saved are an original Landstrom's I got when they went out of business, my onyx carbon can, and my IceTool cans.

I'm been saving some so I don't have to use the ones with the obnoxious warnings on them.i just received some Swedish Match with the new warnings on them, and I'm glad I saved some old ones because the new warnings are too much to handle.
