    Even if they do register, doesn't mean they will be approved.

    Less competition for Camel cigarettes please.

      I would imagine Skruf Snus has their reasons for not wanting to register with the US FDA and have their products sold in the American market right now. Who knows, that might change in the future.

      I don't know, if I was a Swedish Snus producer I wouldn't take too kindly to receiving demands to 'get with the program' After all the US is only one of their potential markets and it is a Swedish company.

      Just my 2 cents anyway.

        Well, it sounds like skruf's reason is because Imperial won't let them given their strong cigarette presence. I don't see why you have a problem telling a company you want to buy their product, other than the tone of the email? Why wouldn't you want to hear from former and potential future customers???!!

          Simplysnus - Was only referring to the tone of approach.

              * USA Gold
              * Sonoma
              * Fortuna
              * Bali Shag
              * McClintock
              * Premier
              * Rave
              * Backwoods
              * Dutch Masters
              Those are their US offerings. Damn, the same company that controls my lovely Skruf controls so many cheap, crappy dutches and cigarettes. They seem like they'd only have a big share of the budget market, rather than a large share of the cigarette market as a whole. Then again, I know some people who could go through a 20-count box of Dutch Masters in a day. Their biggest source of revenue is probably people that aren't even smoking their products.

                Thanks. I don't see how selling Skruf at getsnus would affect their other items.

                  Well, their concern is Skruf is a superior product, and they'll lose people from buying cigarettes. USA Gold is around $6.50 a pack here with taxes, and a can of Skoal or Cope is around $4.50-$5. They introduce a snus that actually has nicotine and isn't intended as a holdover between smokes, they worry that they lose out on their cash cow. Lot's of people smoke 2-3 packs a day. How many use 2-3 cans of dip or snus every day?

                    If someone wants to smoke, they'll smoke, if they wanna snus, they'll get snus, if not Skruf then another brand. So, they lose either way.

                        I _think_ all they are doing right now is requiring the disclosure.

                        Unless your ingredients include Cuban tobacco or Arsenic you should be ok for now.

                        The next step is reviewing the ingredients for anything the FDA considers to be a problem.

                        I'm slightly worried about that, since snus has "chemicals that manipulate the amount of nicotine that is available".

                          True, but B&M distribution is the logical follow up to submitting for approval and all the hassles and fees that entails. As it is now, snus is relatively obscure, and your casual US smoker doesn't know that much about it. Were it introduced to B&Ms, they'd lose many more people to Skruf, which would likely be fairly cheaper than the smokes. It's the same reason we can't get Luckies or Camels.

                            Me too danielan.

                            The only Skruf snus you would probably see is "Original" when the FDA starts to control nicotine content.

                              The Northerner is the only one not selling Skruf.
