This reminds me of when we used to make "Poo Dollars" back in college. We would take a piece of poop (typically mine) and I would spread it like butter on one side of a dollar bill. Then I'd go out in the dorm courtyard and lay the dollar poo-side-down next to the soda and snack machines.

    Sit back and enjoy!

One time we did "Poo Purse" where we used a cheap $5 Wal-Mart purse and I pitched some black gold in it and we left it in the laundry room. Poor security guard stuck his hand in looking for an ID to return said purse to it's owner

Yes... I know I have issues

As far as I know most plastic snus cans are made from #5 plastic. I don't think they can be recycled in the U.S.. Everywhere I have been and lived the only plastic that can be recycled is #1 and #2.

Being a mild environmentalist, I do wish that we could recycle these cans!

in the spirit of the discussion, re-use before recycle! if you can't recycle them then you are challenged that much more to make use for them that doesn't require trucking them all over the place to be reproccessed

I too am a fan of that bullshit episode, but as usual they employ a false dichotomy, as if the only choices are landfills and recycling plants

for example, they say the best thing to do for the environment is to just throw things away. Really the best thing to do is reuse as much as possible, and then throw it away

I am aware that recycling is not just sending it off to the plant. Unfortunately I have absolutely no use for keeping more than two extra empty cans for on the go snus. I'm sure that when I buy a house and accumulate a few more things I will find a use.

What do you some of you use them for???

                They would make excellent coasters.

                Wall art.

Use one to level the washer/dryer?

                Hockey puck?

Just took the lid off of my Roda Lacket lös tin. Fits my glasses perfectly.

I'd be curious about petrol usage also. I'm not a fan of disposable plastics. I think the oil would be better used by doing something more productive. I wonder if you use more petrol collecting and reprocessing plastic, than you recover from the items.

I think the energy balance with plastic and paper is negative. Glass if I remember correctly is profitable to recycle. Anyone know for sure???

                            From scrapindex.com or recycle.net

Cheapest glass: Mixed scrap glass - $3.75 / ton
Most expensive glass: 1/8 inch Flint Cullet - $50 / ton

I guess it is not worth it!

But glass or plastic bottles have different rates per state, I think it runs as hight as 10-15 cents a bottle in some states.

Those figures seem to be what the glass is worth after it has been somewhat recycled. Companies probably buy that stuff and melt it then reform it for other manufactures.

I'd like to see glassphault used more. They did it in the 70s in Baltimore, but those streets are slowly disappearing. When used in "special" areas, it's dazzling at night.
