Didn't like Tobaca, what others are like this to avoid

I tried Tobaca and found it too bitter. Is that bergamot? I am not even sure what bergamot tastes like. I may have tried some snus with it in it not knowing the taste.

So if I did not like Tobaca portions what else would I not like.
In loose I tried and liked The General, Skuf Stark, and Gotlandssnus. I have some Probe in the fridgerator and plan on getting some Rota Lacket.

In portions I tried about a half of dozen different ones.

Try some Earl Grey tea. If you like it, then you probably like bergamot. If not, then stay away from brands that have bergamot in them.

That being said, I enjoy Earl Grey tea quite a bit, but I find snus' with bergamot tend to be among my least favorites. I'm not sure why, but at least having some tea will let you know exactly what bergamot tastes like.

Then why do you use this avatar?

Skruf Stark is with bergamot and rose oil.

Or did you use the strawberries (?) to mask the bergamot taste?

BTW, I know at least one bergamot-snus, that indeed tastes awful.

        Cheers!

I haven't heard a single good word about this snus. Has anyone enjoyed it? Although I have had dehydrated snus plenty (you know when you accidentally leave it in your suitcoat for a week), this stuff just tastes spoiled to me.

I haven't had anything else whatsoever that had this effect. I'm glad I've had it though so I can confirm what bad snus is- without even having to try Level.

Taboca isnt that bad, it just isnt that good either. It's not got much flavor and the nicotine just seems normal at the most.

I know a couple of people who love the stuff. I like it well enough, but it loses points on the packaging. It has a great metal can, but the graphics don't do much for me. I have too many other snus' that I like better, so I'm comfortable dismissing it for the packaging ;^)

Skruf Stark is with bergamot and rose oil.
I was mainly thinking of Skruf original and Offroad. The bergamot in the Stark is not very prominent to my pallet, and is balanced out with the other flavors in the snus. I don't dislike bergamot itself, just some of the snus' that are flavored with it. To be honest, I didn't even think about the bergamot in Skruf Stark, I guess I just like it too much to care what's in it, and it's overall flavor has taken on a life of it's own in my mind.

Or did you use the strawberries (?) to mask the bergamot taste?
They're Swedish Fish. Little red fish candy that I like. When I saw some I thought it would make a good photo having them swimming around in a snus can, and the colors of the Stark can seemed like the best match. Unfortunately, the photo did not come out quite that good.

                Aloha!

Now that we are on the topic of food in snus cans. I love to cook, and have been pondering the idea of using a small bit of flavorful snus as a spice in some sauce. I wonder how it would turn out

Yes, Smarvy, Skruf Stark Portions was in my first order, though my expectations about a bergamot and rose oil flavor were not too high. But at that time I needed the high dose of nicotine to kick the cigarettes and well, it became my no.1 favorite snus-brand. The flavor is indeed perfectly balanced.

I was almost sure, that it weren't strawberries. Happy little fishes!

Xobeloot, some crumbs of Ettan in gravy could be a nice combination, but I'm not sure. I wonder, if tobacco ever has been used for cooking/eating.

                    I only know this:
                    ,
a liqueur, that contains some tobacco juice (made by a German chewing tobacco manufacturer).

                    I haven't tried it yet.

                    Cheers!

Just had to pipe in for this (with my first post to these forums, by the way).

I once had, at a nine-course wedding dinner in a fancy slash good restaurant, a crème brûlée that was flavoured with a very small amount of good cigar tobacco, shaved/ground into fragments that were not perceptible. This made for a very interesting, but all in all pleasant experience. The flavour could be described as vaguely herbal and spicy, but with a subltle (-ish) hint of that tightening sensation in the back of the throat from the nicotine.

I suppose a great deal of experimentation had gone into finding the right cigar brand and the right amount of tobacco for the desired effect.

                        Bergamot

Bergamot is the most popular flavor segment in Scandinavia: General, Gustavus Original, LD Original, Granit, Taboca, and Montecristo, among others, all have a bergamot base, but then introduce other flavor elements (citrus, fig, rose oil, etc).

I actually do enjoy Taboca quite a bit.... Occasionally, it can become real bitter and distasteful, but once it's at that point I usually toss it. It's all subjective.....

Sorry guys, tried this stuff and its nice. Good nicotine, good citrus (not really just bergamot BTW) and metal tin. I agree with lxskllr - dorky painting/design on can.

Don't let that deter you though, give it a shot.

Funny you should mention it...Heather and I have been toying around with the idea of "brewing" a couple portions (like tea) and then mixing the extract (?) with some good old fashioned southern-style sweet tea. Seems to me that a lot of the snus flavors marry well with a mouthful of sweet tea. Plus, if I could carry some "Nicotea" around with me, I could get my buzz in places where using my icetool might not be appropriate.
