    Mint snus with no sweetener?

So.. I got a couple of cans of General Mint Portion in my last order hoping to try a snus that would have a "fresh" taste to it.

When I tried my first portion of it I was disgusted and spat it out after a couple of minutes. I really hate the taste of synthetic sweeteners and yet here was a "natural" product that tasted like suger free gum..

I guess I will probably keep the General Mint and might use it to try on some people as it seemed pretty easy to take if you can stomach the sweetener..

Anyway, I guess I would still like to find a nice minty snus - especially as I love menthol snuff - and was wondering if you guys could recommend one which doesn't have a sweet side to it..

Is Thunder Frosted "sweet"? I thought the Thunder wintergreen was not.

Thunder Frosted does not have that disgusting artificial sweetener taste - it's very strong though.

Olde Viking Spearmint has absolutely no sweetener in it. Very minty and pretty decent too!

Thunder Frosted and Wintergreen are both 'minty' without tasting like they've been sweetened. The Frosted has a stronger flavor than the wintergreen, but the frosted is also available in varying nicotine levels.

          Strength, from strongest to weakest:
Thunder Frosted (and Wintergreen) > Thunder Frosted Long+ > Offroad Frosted = Thunder Frosted Mini (thanks tom, I disregard mini's heh)
All 4 have a similar spearmint flavor

And I think the Thunder Frosted mini, is the same nic as a regular snus.

I would agree that Thunder Frosted doesn't taste overly sweet. It's a very natural taste, like chewing on spearmint leaves.

You might try "making" your own by taking General (or a more neutral snus like Ettan) white portions and flavoring with a little mint extract. Take a few portions, put them in an empty tin, add a couple or so drops (a little goes a long way) of extract, shake it, and let it sit a bit.

I have done this with cinammon and (before General Mint came along) mint extract. I found it an interesting change of pace, but I was hoping it would be a little more sweet than it turned out to be. But it might give you just the flavor you're looking for.

OK, great so there are a few I can try then. Landgell, I do like the idea of messing around with flavours. I really might give that a go.

Thanks for all the advice, I guess I need to go put an order together.

I hate artificial sweetners, but I don't detect them in General Mint. When I first tried American snus (Camel Frost and Philip Morris Rich), the artificial sweetners made me sick (not literally, just the awful taste). General Mint is probably my very favorite snus, so far.

I like General Mint too. It's a great "last of the day snus" when I'm on the couch at night.

I like Thunder Frosted better though. It's great.

I also think the General Mint is pretty decent and I too do not detect that artificial sweetness that say American Camel, Marlboro, and Discreet have. Could be there, it just doesn't bother me as the above mentioned. Nice late evening, after dinner, and bedtime snus that there General Mint is...

Those two people look almost exactly alike. Are they twins?

I dunno. I just googled for "Sleeping" people to find an appropriate image relevant to my description of the usage of General Mint Snus.
